Gatekeeper of my home

We just finished our third day of school…..

We just finished our third day of school…

You know how you have one child that

loves to learn… (my oldest 15 yrs old,

a sophomore this year) and then you

also have one that does not like school..

(my youngest 12 yrs old in 7th grade)..

Well thank goodness I only have two

kids. First day and my 7th grader

does not follow directions, works

slow on her seat work, and gets

attitude… grrrr…

Punishment:  No computer, No TV…

child’s response…. Mom you’re hard

core….Mother’s response….hmm

“Do you think God is hard core?”

child’s response…. No Way

Mom’s response, “Really have not

read? The Bible tells us about a

man named Uzzah reached out to

keep the covenant from falling and

God struck him dead… or maybe you

remember the story of Israel how they

complained about everything and

God opened the earth and it swallowed

them? And you think God is not hard

core? Hmm… Phil 2:14 - Do everything

without complaining or arguing. (NIV)

She was quiet after that and finished

her work… Today she did not complained

got her work finish on time and is now

Happy playing in the computer..

She said to me, “Mom your right you

need to punish hard if you want us to

learn just like God did… J

Well as always God is faithful as I am

Also faithful to teach my children both

Academically and spiritually…

Hope you all have a magnificent day!

***Suzie*** aka hard core Mom..

I will have to try that. I have one that objects to schoolwork. The other one is usually very good about it though.

Sep. 2, 2006 - Tough mom

Posted by ktneis

My son has a friend living with us at the moment and his friend said my son has it made with how he lives and how he is treated. Of course my son complains and is dying to move out when he is 18 in Nov. So his friend is saying that is fine I like it here and I am going to stay, tough rules and all. This is coming from a kid who had free reign to do what ever he wanted and to stay out all night. My son will figure this out in a week or so after Mike keeps giving him the contrast of living arrangements. Our kids learn by others examples and it is so great for you to give Bible examples to help your kids understand life and how it works. You are a awesome mom. Thanks for your continued prayers for me.
