Gatekeeper of my home

Busy Week.......

Another week has gone by…. Wow!

This week was busy for us after having

nursery last Sunday, my daughter

had not  been feeling too good and I

too have not been feeling good…L

One of those adorable babies had

a cold and I think we all got some

of it… (even though I washed my

hands every 10 min.??) Oh well…

We did manage to get all our

lesson done except for one day

when we had a field trip to the

Daytona Museum, where they had

an exhibit about “Ink & Blood”

(the dead sea scrolls)  It was

awesome to see some of the

scrolls and artifacts from that era,

it some how brought it all to live… J

My kids and I really enjoyed it..

In our way home we stopped and

had some Crispy Cream donuts

with coffee… We had some

home school friends ride with us..

Crispy Creams are my favorite &

also my very picky 15 year old son.

Then it hit me when I asked

him how many he wanted…

He replied, “No thanks Mom, I

lost my dessert privilege all week…”

I had forgotten I punished him early

in the week for not finishing his

Algebra 2 work..   L

I felt so bad… But I have to keep

My “No’s as No…”  He did not

complain, pout or anything he did

smiled… Yikes that is the hard

part for me when I stand my ground

and feel, oh no!....

But God is faithful when we got home

he hugged me and said, “You’re the best

mom and I love you”….

With tears in my face I hugged

him back and said, “You’re the Best Son”

I use to be worried about raising teens but

Because of my commitment to raise God

Loving & fearing children it has paid off now..

I am so thankful that God has given me the

strength to be consistent no matter what

because my fruits are paying off… J

I hope you all have a phenomenal weekend…

Don't you just love the big rewards. I recieved my son's graduation pictures yesterday and he grew up. I was stunned to see that my baby was a young man. Fast forwarded into a new life. They need to be babies longer for me to keep enjoying them. I like that little museum in Daytona, they try to get interesting things in to keep us all interested.

Hi Suzie,

Your son is very responsible. I'm not sure if my kids would remind me that they coulnd't have donuts if I had forgotten :) You are a great mom! Isn't it wonderful to have that affirmation from our children?

I hope you are feeling great soon!

i'm always encouraged when i read positive things about raising teens. so many people are so negative about it. i pray that it is as wonderful an experience for us as the rest of the years have been.

How cute and loving. Bless his heart. It's so great when God let's us see fruit bearing from our children. He doesn't promise us let we will see the fruit of our labor - so that's why I LOVE it and cherish it when we do get to see it.

So are you going to buy him some Krispy Cremes when he's off restriction ;-).
