Fantastic Writing Contest for Teens!

I came across a blog entry on Reviews by Heidi, and it included a wonderful opportunity for all teen writers! The winner gets their book published. Can you believe that? They are asked to write a book for 'Tween' (middle-grade, the reading level of my Circle C Adventures). Go to Heidi's to read more about it, or click the graphic below to go to this wonderful site:

Here is the book that won last year, and a picture of the Teen Author! Spread this around HSB. From experience, I know the caliber of the writers here.

Is this a great idea or what?

Do you really think I could do it? I dunno about kids books...

I'm a junior, so I do have another year. This would be pretty cool. Hmm... *contemplates* Resolved White is what I'm thinkin'. I was writing about Susannah, but I could change the POV.

*sends telepathic messages to people making Andi's cover* You want to change it... The red is too much...

I'm sure everything will work out. But if they come back and say that it's 'too hard' to do, I must have speaks with them. It was easy for *me* to do.

I added more to my story on my writing blog, I sent out the notification but as I said, my computer is a stubborn mule. =P

Thanks for letting me know about this! Sounds like an awesome opportunity. I think I'll aim on entering next year, since I really don't have anything ready--my Civil War story isn't quite finished yet, and I think it's more YA fiction. But now I have all year to work on a middle-grade novel! :-D
