I'm very excited to hear that some of you are ready to accept the challenge. Here's the graphic. You can join up at any time. Even if you haven't started at the beginning, reading most of the Bible is better than just giving up and passing this opportunity for accountability by. Get on board. I think it will be fun.
This past week started my journey. I love Genesis, and on Friday I was reading in bed with the sliding glass door drapes open. Unexpected snow was falling, blanketing the yard and bare trees with this pristine coat of quiet, beautiful snow. The Creator was painting a lovely picture while I read. So, all in all, a great beginning. How about you?
This morning I finished Noah's Ark. I've always been struck by the fact that "God closed the door." I wonder if this is because He knew Noah might open the door when the poor fools who'd rejected his 120 years of preaching would start banging on the ark with a "Wait! We believe! Let us in!" After all, these folks were Noah's neighbors, and possibly some of his relatives. It must have been hard for Noah to hear their screams and realize it was too late for them. That should motivate us to spread the gospel and invite people on the Ark of Jesus before it's too late!
Here are next week's goals, if you don't have your own schedule:
Jan. 4: Gen. 10-12 & Matt. 4
Jan. 5: Gen. 13-15 & Matt. 5: 1-26
Jan. 6: Gen. 16-17 & Matt. 5: 27-48
Jan. 7: Gen. 18-19 & Matt. 6:1-18
Jan. 8: Gen. 20-22 & Matt. 6:19-34
Jan. 9: Gen. 23-24 & Matt. 7
Jan. 10 (Saturday): Gen. 25-26 & Matt. 8: 1-17
And here is a GREAT link from Chastity, where you can choose your own Bible Reading Schedule: http://www.ewordtoday.com/year/
Please sign Mr. Linky so we can all go around and encourage each other. Remember to report in even if you miss a day or two. Knowing that others have off days will encourage all of us to "run the race with endurance" and pick ourselves back up! I'm looking forward to visiting.
