Bible Challenge Week, uh . . 18?

How are you all doing? I've kept up, amazingly enough! I and 2 Samuel are easy to read, if a little gruesome. I can't get over how many things are "R" rated in the Old Testament. How about when Joab is chasing some enemy of the king's, and the guy hides out in a city. Joab's going to kill everybody and burn the city until a woman pleads with him and asks what they can do to turn him aside. "Give up the guy who fled to your city," he replied. No problem. They chop off his head and the woman tosses it over the city wall! Talk about an "R" rating for "disturbing scenes." It's fresh on my mind because I decided to watch Slum Dog Millionaire. It was disturbing, but no more disturbing than watching the Taliban whip teenage girls on the Nightly News! The world is a disturbing place. The movie spurred me to pray for the millions of human beings living in places we wouldn't ever want to see.

Come quickly, Lord Jesus, Deliverer!

You beat me to my blog this week! Mine's up and running now, only slightly late. I never seem to find enough time to blog, hang out on facebook, milk cows, keep up with the housework, the school work and the yard work, etc, etc. I'm reading Psalms. I agree about the gruesomeness of Samuel. It seems like life revolved around bloodshed.

Well I am following the lounge one, and it includes a small portion from Proverbs every day! I am seriously going to study it with the children, it is a great book and a great discussion starter.
Have a blessed week.

Hey there....I have been MIA in bloggyland. I have not been to my blog or any others in a while. I was behind in my bible reading, although I caught up today, WAHOO!!!! I host a weightloss meme on Wed. So I am online tonight, burning the midnight oil, getting that together. You know I had my week 15 post written, just never posted.....how bad is that. So now I am really behind in posting. Although I am keeping on track in the reading. Thanks for hosting this. I know it has been crazy busy around here as well as for everyone else. I still know you are all out their reading too, so that pushes me to keep on.
Be blessed,
Chasity
