Spring!

Posted in what-not
I certainly love spring!  Today is Resurrection Sunday and I've been enjoying the beautiful spring that God has given us.  We met at the French Broad River EARLY today for Sunrise Service (make that Sonrise); then we had a pitch in breakfast back at the church building (see my avatar); then regular Sunday School and Sunday Service.  It was all very beautiful.

The dogwoods are NOT in bloom yet, but will be this week, I can tell.  That lovely picture on my template is a picture I took last spring of our dogwood in blossom.  Breathtaking, isn't it?

We are very busy this week with the final week long practices for JBC's production of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".  It opens Friday night, continues Saturday night and final performance on Sunday afternoon.  Read about that event on the HSN Tennessee blog here.

This is also our last week of school for homeschool year #11.  It's hard to believe that we have been homeschooling that long.  It doesn't seem like it.  It's such a way of life, that I sometimes forget that there are others who go to traditional schools and have to stick to a SCHEDULE according to what the state wants them to do! *sigh*

Praise the Lord, I love my job!

Just stopping in to tell you that you are a MAJOR source of encouragement here at HSB. I am so thankful we are friends.

Spring is finally "sprung" over here in England! It is beautiful to see the flowers in the gardens - daffodils in ours! The weather is still rather unpredictable, but some days are beautifully warm.
We have been home-educating our son for about 3 years now (he is 11 years old). It was the best decision we ever made as he was so unhappy at school. The school year here doesn't end until July, so we have a few more months before we can "put the books away" yet! Happy Spring!!

That's terrific! I have been suprised at how many people finish up their homeschooling in the early spring. We usually finish the end of May, but this year, we are moving more to a year around with days off when we feel like it!

Glad to know I am not the only one who likes fruit cake from time to time...hee hee!

You left a comment on my page that the schoolhouse in the picture at the top of my blog is near where you live. I was wondering if you could tell me something about it, like what town it is in, and what it is now (is it in a state park or something?) I have to admit that until you made that post, I had seen that picture almost ever day and never given it a thought. Now I am curious. I would appreciate any info you have! Thanks, HouseMouse

Betsy ,

That sounds like it will be a lot of fun. My kids LOVE Charlie. I wish I could come, but my dh doesn't get off from work until 6:00. I live in Pigeon Forge, and I know we would never make it in time.

I hope ya'll have fun. I can't wait to hear all about it. :-D

Blessings,
Amy Beth <><
