Finally have a bit of time to post some photos of what types of things we've been doing these past three weeks working with the "Senior Saints in the Smokies".
One thing we did was help wrap silverware. This wrap-fest happens twice a day for 350-450 folks. Tons of fun, as you can see by our ever smiling faces. That's Charlie holding up his knife. Harold is directly behind him. I'm wearing a pony tail.
We also helped with move in day on Mondays. This is Harold and Charlie as they help to unload the undercarriage of a tour bus.
We also help the 350-450 Saints to pack a sack supper. This is me (in blue) and Trisha getting ready for the stampede.
This is Harold as he helps a Senior Saint with selecting a beverage during packing of the sack suppers.
This would be Charlie making sure that the Saints select a nutritious veggie to go with their sack supper.
Sometimes we had a bit too much fun, as shown here, as we toss the baggies of ice towards the cooler.
This would be DH as he exits the Global Education/Technology Center after sharing at his workshop on Digital Photography. Sweet.
Time for a break, then next week will be the final week for this year of SS in the Smokies. Fun, but tiring. God bless the older generation! ~Betsy
Wow. That looks like so much fun. It reminded me of something I wanted to do this summer. I wanted to call around to some of our senior centers and see if we could volunteer somehow. I miss doing that. Our seniors have such great hearts and even greater stories.
I didn't know you had a son named Charlie! That's the real name of my 4 y.o. sickie! What a coincidence...
I love the big pictures, I feel like I'm there too! -HouseMouse
Charlie and Harold are their online names. Charlie because he was Charlie in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Harold is because he 'proclaims' everything he thinks LOUDLY like a herold. ha

“My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
