Winter 2007/08 TOS

Posted in helpful stuff

I just received my The Old Schoolhouse magazine and this issue sure is a great one!  It has all the Convention news as well as an entire section devoted to FREEBIES! You can read about the Freebies at this link.

Do you have a favorite article from this issue? My favorite article has to be "Following the Iditarod" by Dena Wood. It begins on page 134. We have been reading about sled dog racing, Siberian Huskies and plan on following this year's Iditarod. Lots of good, educational fun!

Oh, and you can meet me and my family on pages 40-41! YEAH FOR TOS!!

We've followed the iditarod before, and plan to again this year. You're better than me to do a study on it first! They know the story behind the race, though.

Hello Betsy!
I just received my new issue of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine and read your article. It was so encouraging! What a surprise to read at the end of the article where you live! Here I am in Japan on the other side of the world and you live where I attended college! What a small world! Who would have guessed I would someday get married, have children and homeschool them all the way through high school. Now my oldest is 24 also and she is our delight! I am new to blogging but I want to send you God's blessings and strength in your homeschool efforts!

I just read your article in TOS and it made me realize that I was starting to loose focus of why we homeschool. Getting back to relaxing and keeping our eyes on the Lord! I need to let go of focusing on the house and put that energy into my children. Before I know it they will be all grown and building a family of their own. I guess we all need a reality check every now and then. Thanks for some of the great ideas to use in our own daily routines. God Bless, Keep the Son in your eyes, Deanne (Canada)

My Purpose

“My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Col. 2:2,3)
