Rain, Rain, Go away....

Can I tell you a secret?

Whenever I go camping it rains.  I don't mean a little drizzle, I mean LOTS of rain.  Puddles, rivers, and pools of water.  It's got to be me!  Something about me setting up a tent causes rain.

So, on this long weekend we planned, with some friends, to go camping.  I checked the weather on Monday -- BEAUTIFUL, warm, sunny!  Perfect for camping and roasting marshmellows over the fire for smores.  Tuesday still said lovely weather, as did Wednesday - tho it was showing a bit of cloud.  Thursday, it was very cloudy with a chance of showers predicted for the weekend.  Today, well, you've certainly guessed it.  Thundershowers!  Pouring rain predicted for most of the weekend.  Go figure.

Have we changed our plans?  Nope.  We're still going to -- BRAVE the weather and see how it goes.  Think of us as you put up your umbrella and close the windows to keep out the droplets.

Photos to come, rain or shine!

I completely understand about camping and raining. I took my children camping when they were younger. At least one day out of our trip or even two would be rain but not just plain old rain. It would storm with bright lightning and loud thunder claps and pouring rain. We would be lucky if there was a town nearby to go to the laundromat to dry all the sleeping bags out. sometimes we would head to the bathroom to ride out a bad storm or the storm would start once we were there. Then we would come back to find the tent in a little lake and we had to move it to dry land in pitch dark except for the lightning flashes. On other trips it would turn chilly and we would be warming ourselves in the drizzle by the cookstove. But we had the greatest time all together. Blessings.

Sometimes it's downright fun to camp in the rain! :) I know - I'm nuts!
I love sitting in the tent listening to the rain hitting it. I've found that there are some rainy days that DH and I say to each other - wouldn't it be fun to be camping in this rain?

We have a camping trip planned to start this Wednesday. So far the weather sounds good, but my camping luck is somewhat like yours, so I'm sure we will at least get a couple of wet days! Hope you are having a good time regardless.
