My daughter and one of my day care children were sitting on the kitchen floor today having a drink of juice and chatting together. I couldn't resist listening to their conversation. They are both 2 1/2.
Day Care Boy was telling her about his weekend, stating that he had been to his Uncle's house on Saturday. My daughter asked if his Uncle had a "real name" and Day Care Boy was proud that he could tell her what it was. My daughter then stated, rather matter-of-factly, "I have a Bubba, but his real name is Grandpa!"
I couldn't stop laughing! "Bubba" is the name that my father was dubbed at his first grandaughter's birth, but we always refer to him as Grandpa, not as Bubba, even though the kids call him that. It's amazing what children perceive! I love listening to them talk to eachother - it is a good reminder how much they listen and remember even when we don't think they are listening!

That's so funny! Kids really do say the funniest things and it's wonderful to listen to them talk and have conversations like that with each other. It's so awsome! Thanks for stopping by yesterday. It was taking a lil' break from the computer and needed to get out so I didn't post and entry and thus didn't get to write any of you wonderful gals back. Sorry! But the break was well needed and worth it! Today, gonna be a busy one, too! I am trying to respong to as many messages as I can before things pick up around here and then I won't have a change until tonight to get back to everyone.
Isn't spontaneity, just wonderful? I admit, I am not the most spontaneous person, 'cause I have to plan things out and what not and it really tends to get in the way of actually having fun, but every once in a while, I do get a "wild hair" to do something and it's great! I remember three years ago, it was raining and my daughter and I went out under our carport and I let her jump in the puddles. It was so much fun. Our neighbor was there with us and kept saying, "Oh, she's gonna get a cold!" Hehe, but it was great that she didn't get a cold, but wet pants! Lol.
Well, I hope you have a great day, hun! Hugs and God bless,
