I listened in on a conversation between my eldest son and daughter...
ds5 - "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
dd3 - "Maybe a doctor"
ds5 - "If you are a doctor you wouldn't see the kid smuch, so I'd have to stay home."
dd3 - "Why?"
dd5 - "Because they have to be at home to homeschool!"
dd3 - "What if I have a baby?"
dd5 - "Then I'll carry the baby in a seat for you, wherever you go until the baby is big enough to stay with the other kids."
dd3 - "What other kids?"
dd5 - "Our other kids! When we grow up and get married we'll have to have kids because kids are fun. And we can take care of kids that aren't ours that don't have Moms and Dads, and you can do the laundry!"
Don't you wonder what kids are thinking sometimes?? You'd better believe that Daddy had a chat with the two of them about marrying each other! I do love, however, that my son thinks that homeschooling is so important that if his sister wasn't going to stay at home and do it, that he would do it himself!

I am the editor for our local homeschool support group's newsletter. I have a feature called "Once, Outside the Schoolroom..." It is cute or encouraging little anecdotes like this about homeschooling. May I have permission to use this in our feature? I could keep it competely anonymous, or I can put your name and state. Your choice. Blessings to you, oh and I sure hope you and the baby are feeling better!

Even though they can't get married that is so wonderful that they have that kind of loving and sweet relationship. And that your DS is even willing to talk about getting married. I know many a boy that is very adamantly against getting married. My DS is still sitting on the fence about it. Though I tell him he has PLENTY of time to decide on that. I'm secretly praying for a PASSLE of grandchildren.
