WastefullnessI have wanted to blog for some time about a topic that really bothers me -- WASTEFULLNESS.In our society today we are such wasters of resources and time! A parent who consistantly piles their child's plate with food then throws away half of it because the child doesn't finish it. Wasteful of food. Throwing out leftovers instead of taking the time to re-heat them and eat them another day. Spending hours watching television or playing video games - Wasteful of time, Spending hours chatting on the phone about nothing particular, discarding things instead of cleaning them up or fixing them (I'm completely shocked at some the things people will just throw away!), on and on it goes. I'm sure you've encountered other forms of wastefullness, too. Even such simple things as turning off the water and electrical items when they are not in use. I think, as Christians, that we should be ashamed. God has provided us with a beautiful world that protects us and nurishes us. We show Him such disrespect when we are wasteful of the things He has given to us, and when we teach our children not to be respectful of resources, food, time and energy also! Leave a Comment
