The power of observation!Tonight my 3-year old daughter was measuring our feet with my measuring tape."Mommy," she announced, "your feet are 7!" She is right. My feet are SIZE 7 "Daddy's feet are 9" She continued..... right again! "My feet are 8 right Mommy?"... again, she was right. She was also right about her big brother's feet. The only one that confused her was the baby - but then the baby doesn't wear shoes yet! She didn't measure them correctly - but she got the numbers right! She remembered our discussions of feet in the past and took in all the numbers! What a smart cookie :) She surprised me today a couple of other times, too. She was playing with my knitting needles and I asked her to pass me a size 4. She sorted a bit but came out with the right number. Again, on request, she passed over a 5. Wow, she's picking up more then I realized! She then made me letters with the needles -- X, A, V and T! I have completely underestimated her knowledge! How did she get so smart? ![]() Leave a Comment
