My daughter loves to sing. She can sing for hours, making up songs as she goes along, linkinging songs together, or putting poems to music.
As we drove down the highway today it was no surprise to hear her singing at the top of her lungs. Her song of choice today was "God is so good".
She conquered the words to the first verse with ease "God is so good, God is so good, God is so good, He's so good to me!" On into the second verse she went "He answers prayer...."
but then she continued on with verses I've never heard before. "God keeps me safe, God keeps me safe, God keeps me safe, He's so good to me!". This was followed by "He sends the rain, He's so good to me" as she watched the rain drops chase eachother down her window.
A round of "God made my seatbelt" flowed from the backseat, then came the verse "God sends the traffic, God sends the traffic, God sends the traffic, He's so good to me!". How often do I stop and THANK God for the traffic we so often seem to be stuck in? Hummmmm...... you know, I don't remember EVER thanking Him for the traffic -- or my seatbelt, for that matter!
She continued on in her sweet, high voice "God made my Mommy, He's so good to me!"
My heart melted as she came to the end of her song, but I was reminded.... it takes a little child to teach us that we are to be thankful to God for everything -- even the traffic. He IS Good to me!
