I conceed...Posted at 11:12 AM on Jan. 29, 2008
Ok, I'll post some of the chapters. How many I do not as yet know. The first one will come soon, but I have yet to finish the final edit. It took me FOREVER to find the right voice without being too wordy (I possess, after all, a proclivity for gargantuan, verbose collocations not rife amongst the quotidian homo sapiens). The NaNoWriMo draft was...awful, the second got...better, the third was too wordy, and I'm currently on to the fourth, and perfect, draft. All the others never got as far as Neama's entrance before I got frustrated. ~Donna-Elizabeth Untitled CommentPosted by writer4him at 7:32 PM on Jan. 29, 2008

You attempted to read the bible in one month? So that's an average of about three books per day? Wow. I guess it is possible - I've heard of some crazy people reading cover to cover in three days! That would have to be non stop with limited sleep though. Yes, getting the right voice is awfully difficult, isn't it? Currently I'm working on a LotR fanfiction about Denethor, so I have to keep it in the Old English language but without making it too wordy or flowery, which is pretty difficult. Plus I have different characters who speak differently - Tolkien was very good at that, I think, all his characters formatted their sentances differently so each had a lot of character just in their lines alone. The perfect draft? I don't think I've ever got to that stage! Now I'm really looking forward to seeing your story! ;) - Altariel Untitled CommentPosted by AuthorElf at 6:25 PM on Jan. 30, 2008

It looks like you have got a interesting story going. I know how you feel with all the editing. I've been working on a particular story for around two years, and I'm just know finishing off a draft that I like. ~AuthorElf Untitled CommentPosted by AuthorElf at 6:54 PM on Jan. 30, 2008
Well...two years this May. Three months often does seem like a long time, especially when working on a story. So much can get done in that amount of time!
