Educator Day at the Zoo!
Saturday, November 15, 2008
9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Discover how the Zoo can help you and your students learn about the natural world. We will offer a variety of professional development workshops, chats with the animal keepers, and a number of amazing stage shows. Local conservation education organizations will also be here to talk to you about what they too have to offer you and your students. You will receive 3 or 6 SBEC hours for attending.
All of this—as well as the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Houston Zoo—will be FREE to all educators who register by November 13 or present their school ID at the event.
If you register on-line, your name will be automatically entered into the drawing for fabulous door prizes!
Workshops are on a first-come, first-served basis. Concurrent workshops will take place at 10:00 a.m., 10:45 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 1:45 p.m., and 2:00 p.m.
A box lunch will be provided to the first 500 educators from 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Brown Education Center with time to talk to other educators.
