Who would have thought?
Yesterday I was blessed to attend a most amazing event. At first I thought this was just another birthday party for another 13 year old. How fun! There will surely be food and cake. There was, and much of it. But that wasn't the best part . The best part was finding out that this wasn't an ordinary party. This was a party, but more of a dedication. The father of this 13 year old presented her with a ring. It symbolized several things, one being the love that God and he had for his daughter. He made her a promise to protect her and help her to remain pure and accountable not only to God but to him. It was a very touching moment watching him get down on one knee to present her with this incredible gift that will be a constant reminder to her.
I was sharing with a friend the other day how surprising my life is.
Here I am on the verge of 40 teaching my 16 year old to drive and my 16 month old to walk. I would never have thought 20 or so years ago that this would be the place I would have in life. A place of so many wonderful things happening at once.
We're wrapping up the house and hopeful to have everything ready by early March. I need to go out and find some plants to liven up the outdoor landscape.
Here are some before and after pictures.
Before
After

The fence still needs a little work and we have someone lined up to work on it. This house is very deceiving from the outside. It is actually 1,696 square feet on the top level with the same in the basement/garage area.
Any suggestions for landscaping?
Here are a few pictures of my favorite baby.
He's got a mouth full of teeth now!

Isn't he cute!?

And yes, he knows it!
Since this is a homeschool blog or atleast claims to be, I want to add that we are having a great school year. Along with the usual school work we are are keeping busy with many extra activities. Last week we took our monthly field trip to the aquarium to learn about amphibians. The girls are taking dance classes. We've just started with a new group and will be taking part in a drama production of the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. This group has broken into "small groups" and have several parents organize activities for each age group. Jacob has played basketball. Samiam was part of a Valentine's day baby shower to lavish love on the woman who have decided to keep their babies at our local Woman's Care Center. There have been other activities but having several aged children we couldn't possibly participate in everything and get anything at home done so we pick and choose the activities that work best for us. It's been good.
Our trip has been postponed for until after the first of March. Some guessed correctly, we're planning to go to the New Creation Museum in Kentucky. We'll be staying a couple of nights. Can you suggest other places we can visit while we are in the area?
From the blog of jenig
"You can only follow God and obey His word, and trust that He has a plan, which is working together for good for those of us who love Him. And He will never forsake us or disappoint us. He is patient and trustworthy, long suffering and forgiving. " |
