Going to Press

I've not blogged much lately. I miss you guys! We're going to press this week and it is very, very insane around here right now. Always this way the last week we go to press. I'm forever the last one to turn in my stuff, too, which drives everyone even battier. GAH! Things are going great, though, otherwise. Oh, and the cover is wild. This beautiful red schoolhouse with a HUGE branch going across the front. Pretty dramatic looking.
My kids are excited because we're going to Georgia in a week to speak to a homeschooling group for their annual back to homeschool night. Our kids love to work the table in the back and just socialize with everyone they meet. It's a lot of fun for them, plus a nice break for the whole family to drive off and just relax a little. We'll be near Copperhill, Georgia, a week from tonight. Come on out and see us if you want! Paul and I EACH are doing a one-hour talk. Pretty fun. publisher@thehomeschoolmagazine.com for details. I'll post again later. We're having the Igs over for dinner tonight and I have a mega roast to go make. I thank the Lord for my Julia who cleaned the whole kitchen this morning. The kids love having the Igs over, so we're all pretty excited today. Talk to y'all later.

Sounds like a fantastic time, Gena! You are so very blessed to have such a great sister and friend so close to you (both in heart and in location). Kinda makes the previous torture worthwhile, huh?

Have fun in GA...While I'm a bit long-winded at times, I couldn't imagine having to speak for an hour. Zoiks! I think I'd be a bit nervous...but you definitely don't seem like the nervous type. :-)

"Presses"--what a word :). My first book should be available in a few days, and it's been such a journey getting here! I have discovered that I really love publishing.

RYC: Not too amazing, as belief in ID so quickly leads to belief in a personal God, which requires something of us. It's much simpler to believe in something that requires nothing.

I wish we could come see both of you (Jen & Gena!). My little Morgan is a cleaner, too. She organizes all the animals and books at Barnes & Noble every time we go. They love it when she goes there! I wish we were close enough to drive to see you! Alas, we are broke and too far away....

Maybe some day when you are visiting Arkansas, Oklahoma or Texas?

When we were camping last month I saw a sign for a old schoolhouse in Sequim, Washington. I begged my dh to take me there to take a photo, but we ran out of time. Oh well... probably you have already featured that one before!
