THE OLD SCHOOLHOUSE MAGAZINE
is planning to cover this event in their Winter Edition
http://www.thehomeschoolmagazine.com/
Please join us for a Barn Dance and Auction Fund Raiser
as we raise support for the mission work
for the gospel of Jesus Christ, and making disciples
of our Lord in Ethiopia
"Since the fall of 2004 Becky and I have made several trips to the land of Becky's youth as self-supporting missionaries. Many people have expressed an interest in this ministry, and it is primarily for them that we have written the following reports. We pray that all who read them will be blessed and challenged by what our Lord is doing in the Horn of Africa, just as we have been." -- Dave Black
Read about the work we are supporting with proceeds
from the barn dance/auction:

We plan to auction off homemade goodies, gift baskets, hand-crafted gifts, etc.
What a great homeschool project to be planning with your children! And you get to see Jen Ig do a jig! What could be more comical than this?!
Disclaimer from Gena: I cannot force my sister to do a jig. You can bet Ill try, but I dont promise a thing. However, if I
can accomplish this, oh you are in for a treat. Jens childhood
dream was to be a Solid Gold Dancer, and well, lets just make that dream come true, hillbilly style!
Here is a link to a barn dance held in Illinois
by homeschoolers there a few weeks ago:

Laurie Bluedorn of Trivium Pursuit
http://www.triviumpursuit.com/index.php
has posted pictures at her blog
These may give you some great ideas
about what you could make for the auction.
Can we not match this?! Yes, Lauries cool, but can she dance like Jen Ig?
Further details will be coming soon (watch this blog, or Julies parentingwithpurpose.net one), but mark your calendars and start planning the creative items your family can bring to be auctioned off and help the spread of the gospel and making disciples for Christ in Ethiopia.
Please note:
No alcoholic beverages nor smoking are permitted at this event. No chewy tobaccy, either.
Thank you!
