Need A Reading Partner ?
Posted in Great Books Discussion
|
Classical Mama and I think alike. We are both classical home educators who believe great literature is core to education. I believe it is not only the glue in my homeschool methods, but the single academic activity I would never give up if forced to choose.
Classical Mama told me she is reading How To Read a Book by Mortimer Adler. My copy glares at me from the bookshelf unopened, with a sales slip peaking out of the book dated June 14, 2001. I can hear the book whistling, "Yoo-hoo, remember me?"
Classical Mama asked if anyone wanted to be her reading partner . I knew this was the impetus I needed to get started. Do you want to join us ? I hope we will be reading other Great Books in the future. Sounds like she has a virtual book club in the making ! Hope to see you there.

I just picked up the book at the library and linked all the participants in my blog. Now I'm enjoying visiting everyone! I can't wait to start this experience and pray that it will be the blessing I'm sure it will be!

I will try to follow along with the books. I make no guarantees as I am some times great at committing to things and not so great at the follow up. However I love to read and rarely read fiction, although I enjoy it very much. Keep me posted. I think I will love to have someone to chat with reguarding the book
