We're Not Desperate Housewives....Are We ?

Posted in Mindless Meanderings

What a lovely view from the HSB Company Front Porch!

I'm humbled to be sitting up here in the infamous white rocking chair!

After touring our blog neighborhood, I’m enjoying a lazy afternoon, sitting on the front porch with my ice tea, recalling the lovely busy moms I’ve visited with today.  I dare say… it’s almost like a walk down Wisteria Lane.  I’m not saying I met a bunch of Desperate Housewives, but I found some curious parallels.  And for the record, I’m not admitting to watching ABC’s Desperate Housewives…you may  only conclude I’ve done a smidgen of  “research” about the personalities on the show and want to share my observations.

First we have Bree Van De Camp.  Her character portrays the essence of a tidy home, a gourmet cook and if she’s nothing else, she is the queen of efficiency.  On our own Wisteria Lane in the HSB community, I stopped by Our Side of the Mountain.  Upon peaking through her window, I found the most beautiful idea for organizing a dining room into a classroom.  I don’t think she’d mind if you had a peak yourself.  Bree Van De Camp would be proud of Melkhi's ingenuity!

Susan Mayer is seeking to find her place in the world.  Somehow things haven’t quite worked out for Susan’s character yet.   She often finds herself at odds with fate.   I think Whimsical is having a “Susan” kind of day.  Stop by her place and give her a pep talk.

Edie Britt is a female realtor in the show.  She’s an independent thinker and thrives on a challenge.  Did you know we have our own real estate consultant among us?  ReInvestor is homeschooling with a family real estate business.  Her blog entries are widely varied in topics, but I’m sure if you have a question, she’d be happy to expound on her real estate experiences.

Lynette Scavo’s character is all about her kids and family.  Just Call Me Jamin ‘s blog caught my eye as I passed by.  She’s got kids and projects overflowing out her front door.  Stop by to see her photos of their warm and busy family life.

Gabrielle Solis loves to shop on the show and she always looks fashionably updated.  I’m awed at how often Dewgin changes her fashionable graphics.  I mean she’s created three complete blog “makeovers” in the short time I’ve known her!  And each one is cuter than the next.  If you’re shopping for new graphics, you might want to knock on her door for some advice.

Before returning from my stroll through our HSB neighborhood, I found some new neighbors.  Stop by and welcome the Elliott Academy of Excellence and New Mom to Homeschooling.  But don’t mention Wisteria Lane….you might scare them off!  See you 'round the neighborhood.

Thanks for thinking of me and allowing me to be your neighbor! I'll try to keep my current graphics for a while for you to enjoy. A while being perhaps at least 2 weeks! LOL! I already have many more saved up and ready to use!

What an awesome post. Thanks for mentioning my blog! Yes, you have nailed my personality...kids and projects overflowing out the door! (You also acuratley did not suggest that I am the Bree Van deCamp type who's house is perfectly neat and tidy! LOL) Okay, I have probably now revealed that I know a little too much about Desperate Housewives myself! LOL

Actually, I'm only Bree's daughter. The rest of my house fell apart while I focused on the china cabinet. I should take the advice of your previous post and post some of the scary pictures...but then Bree might stop by and disown me.

You are great at putting things together, who would have thought about desperate housewives being similar to home schoolers? I am going to stop by the blogs and check them out, thanks for the links to new blogs.
