What Can You Do With These?

Posted in Family

Lapaz Farms asks what you can do with these sample laminate tiles:

Many years ago I made this chore chart on the back of an old cupboard door using this same type of sample laminate tiles:

I painted the non-laminate side and wrote one chore on each tile with a Sharpie.

I used tea cup hooks to hang each row of tiles.  My kids each had their own row of tiles and flipped them over when their task was completed.

Hmmm. Looks like a cheap way for you to use the principles from packaged products created to do the exact same thing. Another way of doing the same thing would to make a construction paper pockets (2 of them) and write the chores on index cards. Each child gets a Do pocket and Done pocket and is responsible for transferring each of the chore cards to the Done pocket by the end of the day or whenever Mom and Dad decide.

This has worked for us. It's great to see such creativity!

What a neat idea. We recently picked up about 25 different ones since DH is making several counter/desk tops for various places on the house. And, I was thinking..."it's a shame to throw these out". This is nifty. Thanks for sharing.

I've been considering some sort of chore chart for my kids but am unwilling to spend much on it. I really like how you did this. Thanks for sharing!
