Hmmm, what are the nuns not fretting? Or is it - do not fret you are a nun? LOL, I keep getting "how fast does hair grow" google searches since I posted about my son's hair massacre.
I showed my dh your vacation pictures and said, "This is a vacation." Do you think he got the hint?
It's been fun seeing your adventures,
Jessica

Forgive my ignorance: How do you know these people searched google with these phrases and were led to you?
Anyhow, it is quite funny!

Sep. 23, 2006 - Nice to meet you

Hi,
Glad to meet you and know that there are others out there who sympathize with big moves. We're in Corning, which is just adorable. Imagine going two weeks on one tank of gas. In CA I went through two tanks of gas a week! I went to high school in IL --Peoria. I'm a native from the midwest (born in IA, grew up in MI and IN and IL). We stopped in IL to visit my dh's aunt in Round Lake on the way to NY. When you mentioned Ontario my thoughts go right to Ontario, CA! I need to re-orient my geographical frame of reference, I think. :-) You've got a great blog, btw.

Sep. 23, 2006 - The Flat Midwest!

Hahaha! I love the flatness of the midwest! When we were driving here from CA I felt so at home again as we got out of the CO mountains and found flat expanses of grass and corn. However, having lived in CA for a long time I also appreciate mountains, so Corning is a perfect in-between...rolling hills, forested and green, and lots of farmland. Yes, my husband is working for Corning. We have spent some time down in Watkins Glen and visited the Windmill (all those wonderful shops and Amish and Mennonite food). The leaves are just now beginning to turn, and we plan on making some road trips to see the autumn colors. It is beautiful, but then again, so is IL. The state parks are fantastic and there is something (at least to me) so beautiful about miles of corn stalks and farmhouses and barns. Now you've got me waxing nostalgic!
