Sisters mission to Belize

Well as of 8:00 am today our sisters JanineB and MonicaB headed to Belieze with 23 other members from BFBC on a 10 day mission trip to Roaring Creek. I had the pleasure of taking my niece SS to the airport;also a part of the group, which was a thrill for me to do. "No really!"

At 5:00 am  the group assembled at the church along with family to pray and give them a bit of a send off.  For both ladies this is their 2nd trip to Roaring Creek, and this year MB has both of her children along, this wiill create some very special memories for them.  Both ladies have taken a leadership roll with the group, and so they will be looked to for some extra guidance from the group.

May we pray for the 2 of them that in the days ahead and in dealing with larger groups, and many things being asked, that God would extend to them both a little extra grace, patience and wisdom as they work with the team and the community.

My niece SS was so excited, this is her first mission trip and her first time traveling outside of Canada, without a family member with her. No sleep for her last night or myself as I am truly over joyed by how she's embraced this opportunity and what God's doing in her life right now.  I know this will be a truly life changing event and Praise Jesus for His Grace.

The traffic was minimal over to Richmond but all safely pulled up to the International Terminal at YVR at 5:40.  By 6:50 they had all picked up their boarding passes and proceeded through the Duty Free, to head through customs, and to their gate where they would wait to board for the first leg of their flights.

It was a rainy and gray morning when we headed to the airport, but as I drove back across the Pitt River Bridge at 8:00 (at the set departure time for the groups flight) the sky started to break and the sun began to shine through. I thought, "How Wonderful Lord! What a fitting way for the groups trip to the mission fields to begin."

The group will be landing in Huston today where they will spend the evening having a team meeting and devotional time.  Tomorrow morning bright and early they will head through internation customs again and continue on the 2nd part of their journey to the city of Balmopan, Belize and form there a drive to Roaring Creek where they will spend 9 days in the field working with the community on a variety of projects.

So let us keep the group in our hearts and prayers over the next 10 days.  Praying God will do a mighty work through them while they are in His service in Belieze.

As for me, back home to snooze for a couple hours, as I spent the evening up most of the night with a very excited 16yr old.  Managed to take the day off, which was great.  With the sun shining and time off to relaxe I wondered down to the dyke's for a walk and time to pray, reflect and enjoy the warmth of the sun.

It's a TA DA Moment!

TA DA!    "TA  DA!"   TA DA!

Hey my Thrive Sisters - it's a new day. And I am just thrilled with this very fun tool for communication.. the world of Blog.

Now, is God one smart dude or what?

I was actually looking for a new way to communicate with my lovely niece SS.  16 is awfully hard to talk to these days and honesly of late those deaf ears have really been challenging.  Along with other things. But for the time being I have spent the better part of the past couple days, on my kness praying... "Lord, where is the Ta Da in raising a teenager? I'm trying but as much as I try...how and when will she understand?  Lord I need a new way to communicate with her..cause the neighbours (on the other side of the apartment - I'm sure they've heard us)  PS..God please fogive me of my anger..."

Well tonight...after much contemplation.. the world of Blog has come to mind.

So..in my discovery of what Blogging is- I find myself reading and researching every web site on who's Blog site is better...and remember my TA DA Sister "DL" and she's a Blogger...so investigate and "wa..la"  born on this day.. a blog just for us.

So it is my hope that as sisters in the Lord we might be able to use this little tool to share some of what God's doing in our lives.  TA DA moments and faith building things that He's laying on our hearts.

So I invite you my sisters: DL, MB, JM to join me with this little blog experience and perhaps we can find a a little fun along the way.

Tootles for now...CBear!

Prayer Requests:

Belize Mission Trip - Burnett Fellowship team leaves for Belize - Roaring Creek on an Avant Ministries mission trip Feb 8 - 17th,  Please pray for their safety on this trip, that they would do God will, reaching people in the community and each would find God's finger prints at everyturn. Leaning on him for all understanding on this trip, and learning to love him more with every passing minute.  May they return, renewed in spirit, revitalized and re-energized to do more of God's work here.  May they have time of reflection and build their relationships with each other and God and my they each be a blessing to the people in the community of Roaring Creek.  Not only teaching them, but also learning from their hosts.

Word to Share

Dear Lord

Remind us that sharing with others is a pleasing sacrifice to YOu. Keep us outwardly focused so we don't become self absorbed. Enable us to extend mergy to people in every kind of need.

(Hebrews 13:16, Philippians 2:4)
