The Last Unicorn
Posted in Music
Here are the lyrics for the song that always comes on when you get on my blog I'll post for real sometime... :)
When the last eagle flies
Over the last crumbling mountains.
And the last lion roars
At the last dusty fountain.
In the shadow of the forest,
Though she may be old and worn,
They will stare unbelieving
At the last unicorn.
When the first breath of winter
Through the flowers is icing,
And you look to the north,
And a pale moon is rising.
And it seems like all is dying,
And would leave the world to mourn,
In the distance, hear the laughter
Of the last unicorn.
I'm alive!
I'm alive!
When the last moon is cast
Over the last star of morning.
And the future has past,
Without even a last desperate warning.
Then looking to the sky where
Through the clouds, a path is formed
You can see her
How she sparkles!
It's the last unicorn!
I'm alive!
I'm alive!
I'm alive!
I'm alive!
I'm alive!
I'm alive!

That is funny. I just looked this song up yesterday. I like this song. It just fits with your blog, and every time I hear it I wonder what is going on here.
May all of you be blessed by Christ.

I always want the lyrics to the song that first comes up on a persons blog so that I can sing along :)
That's funny that you just looked them up.
It's my bloggy song! I feel the urge to post something real with content but I haven't had time, just the inspiration ... Thanks for stopping by!

I have the same value as you, and I think the same thing about it. =P The thing is, excellence works well with my case. At the last tournament I had hardly any of my neg case written. So I had to ad lib a bunch of it.
I don't know when my first speech tournament is. I am doing an HI, DI, Impromptu, and maybe an Expos. I have the HI pretty much ready to start memorizing, but my DI and expos are non existant. What DI are you doing? I hope you can get it memorized!

Is Excellence your value on Aff. or Neg.? That sounds hard, I'm too lazy to memorize my cases. (especially if I had so many other speeches as well.)
I am doing A Midsummer Night's Dream, by William Shakespeare. Most of my older siblings have done it, so it's a family tradition.
I read your DI, I liked it. It didn't seem very dramatic, but it's a nice piece. The only thing we have to do in my club is Impromptu.
I'm in Stoa (and yes, you spelled it right), but I might go to a few NCFCA opens. I'm guessing that you are in NCFCA. Are you?

That's funny, my criterion for aff. is improvement. My criterion for neg. is caring. I cannot figure how your cases would work. What do you mean by personal limitations?
Now I'm all convinced that I should memorize my cases. =)
I know this one girl who did a Dr. Suess piece for a DI, to give the judges a break from sad stories, and she did pretty well... I think. I guess it depends on what your judges like.
I love Impromptu! I get 6 quotes in my email every day, so every day (well, every day that I remember) I do two impromptus. I'm very nerdy in that way. =P
