Better Week
This week is going better for us. This is our third week of homeschooling. My son is struggling with his biology though. I tell him to read the chapter and then answer the questions. He will sit there for a few minutes acting like he is reading. He starts to answer the questions and gets stuck on the first one. I tell him to look where he read it and he tells me he can't find it. I go through my book and read the same thing and there it is. I don't want to give him all the answers, but he does this on all the questions. Does anyone have any suggestions? He is a 9th grader. Other than this, he flies through his work and barely misses any. My daughter does fine. She gets frustrated when she doesn't get everything right. Otherwise she is fine.![]()

Hi! I have two children as well, but they're only 7 and 4 so I don't know exactly how much help I can be. LOL I wanted to post, though, because I remember what textbooks were like, and they're not fun! Maybe you could use the textbook for Biology as a starting point but then get "real" books from your library that would be more interesting? And videos and/or cool science things made specifically for homeschoolers? Just a few suggestions. :)
I think it's great that you really listened to your kids about how they felt about school and decided to take on homeschooling! It really is a joy; don't let the harder days get you down. Just as in any aspect of life, whether it's your job or raising your children, etc there will be better days than others. Keep being positive and you and your kids will do great!
Come visit me anytime!

Hello and WELCOME to HSB. I was over commenting on Kari's blog and decided to check out her friends list. Are you related to Kari also? This is our first year homeschooling. We started This past August with a bang. It has gone really well. We have had some horrible days, but the good days just push the others out. I think we had a good start because, like Autumn said, we did have that time of decompression. I think that is very important.
Did you start homeschooling as soon as your children were taken out of the Christian school? If so, maybe they just need a little bit of time before moving back in full-force. Just a thought! : > )
I wish you the best of luck. If there is anything that I can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask.
Blessings to you and your family~
Laura
