My new project
I have no idea how long it will take to get this really rolling, but...
I have mentioned in the past that we have a collection of antique and vintage books - meaning some are truly over a hundred years old and others are simply old enough (pre-1924) to be in the public domain. I've republished a couple of these as ebooks, but now I have what I think is a better idea.
I've begun going through my collection, one book at a time (SLOW process!) and I'm indexing the people each book talks about - whether it's actual biographies, stories that include the people, or historical accounts that include the people. My goal is to, within the next few months, begin releasing ebooks that include collections of these biographies, stories, and accounts, along with study and discussion questions that will help the homeschool parent use them for unit studies.
Think about it! One of the things we teach (at least should teach!) our children is that you should always use multiple sources when you're studying someone, especially if you plan to write a report. We also know that the most accurate historical accounts, especially where American history is concerned, were recorded as close as possible to the time of the event. (If you're unfamiliar with the rewriting of American History you should go on the web and do some research!) My goal is to offer a single resource for, say, Louisa May Alcott, that provides word-for-word excerpts from multiple sources printed in the late 1800s and early 1900s and then supplement those accounts with helps that will make the homeschool teacher's life easier.
I'm excited!

Hi Tammy, how is your weekend going? You are doing the same thing with biographies that I am doing with literature books. Questions, puzzles, etc. Beings you don't have children to teach you can just get with it & make our life lots easier. Blessings, Traci
