It's Been A while!

Photobucket

Hey All!

It's been quite a while since I've written an entry and you don't even want to know what all we've been doing.  PLAYING MUSIC!!!  We do have some very exciting news (No, not a baby!) We are going to be at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN for 6 days!!! September 5-10, 2008, 2 shows a day, except Saturday and we will do 3 shows then.  If any of you can and live close, please come by and see us!! We are so excited.  This is their Annual BBQ & Bluegrass Festival.  We are praying that this will open a door for us to be able to play there every year.  We have played in Branson at Dollywood's Sister Company, Silver Dollar City for 2 years now.  Please help us pray that whatever doors should be opened for us will be and those that we shouldn't go thru, we will have the wisdom not to!!

I want to send out a SPECIAL THANK YOU to Dixiecajuns, DixieBeauty, & DixieFiddler for inviting my oldest daughter to visit with them and she has now been so inspired.  All I've heard is creating new blogs!!! Thank you all so much for helping her have a wonderful day!!!   She had a great time!

We'll I guess I should go for now, we will be leaving on Saturday, 8/23 and will be gone until Sunday, 8/31 (yes, a whole week), be back for 3 days and then we leave for Dollywood (8/4-8/11) Please pray for our safe travels and that the girls will be a Blessing to those who hear them and meet them.  God has a mighty plan for my girls and I am awed by what he has already done for them.  What an Awesome God We Serve!!!!

Talk to you all soon,

Tammy

I'm Gonna Miss This!!

Photobucket

If you listen to the 1st song on my playlist "Your Gonna Miss This" by Trace Adkins,  I know right now that I'm gonna miss this!  I gave my Testimony at Church on Saturday night to a group of 10 ladies.  I looked back over the last 20 years of my marriage, my 3 little girls, my precious little boy who's waiting on me in Heaven, all of the many things that God has brought me thru.  I sometimes wonder "Why".  Just that simple statement "Why".  I don't know if I'll ever know why, but I know that he uses what we go thru to help others.  I continue to feel grief every year on my little boy's birthday (he'd be 12).  I think if you're a Mom, you can't lose a child and not feel grief at different points in your life.  I see my girls playing music and I wonder what instrument he would've played, if he could've sang his harmony part. (isn't that silly)  Losing him was the hardest thing that has ever happened in my life and I don't know why I feel so compelled to write on here about him (John Robert).  I ache so very strongly sometimes for him.  To hold him in my arms like I hold my 3 girls.  To lean down and smell his hair, to rub my hand over his back, to whisper and tell him "I love you" while he's asleep on my lap.  I know that when I get to Heaven, John Robert will be there waiting for me and I have the assurance that I will see him then...

As I watch my girls growing I can't help but know that this is going by way too fast for me.  I want to savor each and every minute.  I don't want to have any regrets.  I want my girls to know without a doubt that their Mom LOVES THEM WITH ALL SHE HAS!!!!

I'm sorry for sounding like a loon tonight and I don't know what has brought all of this on, but look over me!!

If you haven't read my sister's blog : luvs2bemom--she's having a GIRL!!!!!!! Harmony Michelle--She's naming her after me!!  Can't ya tell that she loves her big sister!!

I'll try not to be so long in blogging next time.

Talk to you all later,

Tammy

Busy, Busy, Busy

Photobucket

Since my Sister thinks that I have all the time in the world and has stated that I need to write a new blog, here it goes.  We have been so busy and it's just getting busier!  I had a great time last Thursday with Josephine and her girls doing scrapbooking.  Now my girls are doing it again here at home.  We left on Saturday morning at 5 am going to the National Cornbread Festival in So. Pittsburg, TN.  We had a great time playing music and seeing all of our friends from over the last 3 years and also meeting new people.  We got to see Rhonda Vincent again, for those of you who don't know bluegrass, visit www.rhondavincent.com and see what bluegrass really is! She is awesome!  We were so tired and worn out from playing so much, plus I have really bad blisters on my hands from playing bass all weekend!  We went on Monday to Riverbend Rest. to play music and have new promo shots done.  We then went on Tuesday to Springfield where the girls had a clogging lesson with Cheryl Chunn who dances on the Grand Ole Opry!!! Then we all took a singing lesson from Dale Ann Bradley (current Female Vocalist of the Year from the IBMA (Bluegrass)).  Tori then had a fiddle lesson from Patty Lovelace and Vince Gills' fiddle player, Deanie Richardson.  Tori has been so excited that she hasn't put down her fiddle since we got home, except to do school and sleep!!! I had to make her then!  She got a new song "Peaches and Cream".  She is always encouraged when she gets to play around people like Deanie.  We then drove back thru Nashville Rush Hour Traffic!!  Today I have worked on getting our promo photos to the printer before we leave for Branson (Silver Dollar City) which I haven't even begun to pack for.  We also have a field trip tomorrow, a Homecoming/Singing on Sunday....I'm exhausted!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please pray for me and my family as we are so busy that we don't forget to love each other.  Thank each of you for your prayers as we are on this journey.  The fiddle teacher told Tori yesterday that she felt with her whole being that God had Destined for Tori to be a Fiddle Player.  She told her that she is a Gift and has a true Gift from God.  Help me to pray that Tori will Realize and Fulfill the Will that God has for her.  It is my desire for God to use her, Kati, Lexi, me and John.

I'd better go now, Tori has drama practice tonight at church and we have to be there an hour early.

On the go again,

Tammy

This is such a wonderful accomplishment for her and we are so very, very proud of her!!!!

I can't leave Kati out, this photo is of her in the Clogging Competition.  Although she didn't place, the age division was 18 & under and there were 19 in her division, she did an awesome job and we are proud of her, too!!!

I love how her Dad caught her in the act of Kickin' up her Heels!!!!!

I have had the best reception here and I'm proud to share with you what my girls have accomplished this weekend.

Thank You!

Photobucket

Thank you all so much for your wonderful encouragement to me about my daughter.  She is 13 yo and I guess trying to find her place and what she is suppose to be about.  My girls are everything to me.  They are who I am.  Does that make any sense.  If I didn't have them, I wouldn't be me.  Please keep us in your prayers.

Thanks,

Tammy

Self Esteem

Photobucket

I need prayer.  What a statement and it says it all.  My daughter, some of you know her, in my opinion is very beautiful and so very talented (I'm her Mom, what else am I suppose to say).  She is a very accomplished musician and singer and song writer, but she has no or very low self esteem!  I have tried so hard to up lift her and to praise her, but nothing seems to help.  I know that her Mom (holding my head down in shame) also suffers from this.  How do I help her.  What are the words that I say that will keep her humble (as I want her to be)  but give her the self worth that she needs.  I want to take a mirror and say Look, See what I see.  Listen,  Hear what I hear.  My heart is very heavy and burdened for her.  Often she feels that she has no friends (she does) and that she is not good enough at anything that she does (she often wins music competitions).  Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.  And absolutely not least, Please PRAY for her, me (US)!!!!

Thank you,

Tammy

Hello and a Special Thanks!

Photobucket

First, I would like to send a Special Thanks to Sarah and Josephine for creating my beautiful page for me! Thank you both so much for giving me "My Space".

Second, I would like to tell you a little about me.  This year my husband and I will be married for 20 years! We have three beautiful daughters, froggy07 (13), nifty23 (10), and Lexi (she's 5).  We have a son who went to be with Jesus on the day he was born, he would be 12 now.  I love my family.  My family is where I work, play, & live.  I feel that God has blessed my family with a beautiful muscial ministry.  I know that he is using us to minister everywhere we go.  We travel quite a bit, so please keep us in your prayers.  I love to play the bass.  I also play piano.  I love to sew and do machine embroidery.  I also love scrapbooking, reading, and camping.  I love watching the CSI and Forensic Shows.  I also love anything by Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice is my favorite.  I homeschool my three girls and I feel that homeschooling is my calling.  It's not easy, but it is very rewarding.  My husband works for a car maker and he works over an hour away from home.  He has been laid off since last April, but returned to work on Monday.  He has been attending a technical college while being laid off and has made straight As and has made the President's List.  He was able to finish 2 semesters while off.  He is trying to get a degree to become an Electrician.

We have a very wonderful church and church family.  I teach a Sunday School class and also a Wednesday night Girls Club.  I enjoy being with all of the children.

We belong to a local Homeschool group and love our once a month meetings and field trips.  My sister, luvs2bemom, is also in our homeschool group.  She is my best friend.  I don't know how I would have made it through last year without her.  She has been my rock and my confidant when I didn't know where else to turn.  I don't think that she realizes how important she is to me and how much she helps me by just being there to listen.  I love her more than she will ever know.

My extended family is pretty close, too. My parents go everywhere with us.  When we are on the road, they are either with us or babysitting Lexi so we can go.  They are even travelling with us to Branson in May for our Silver Dollar City shows.  They have been such a help to me.  I would not be able to do the things that I get to do if they were not such a big part of my life.  Their approval of me has been my hearts desire.

It is my prayer that I do what God wants of me.  I want to be in His Will in every decision that I make.  I love the Lord and want to be the witness that he would have me to be.

I'd best go for now and get a few more things done,

Tammy
