Weeds!!

Today we spent a lot of the day in the back-yard pulling and chopping down our weed garden! We now have  chopped weeds all over out back-yard, we will be burning them when they dry up, we had some huge weeds back there our back –yard was neglected big time we had weed that where taller then me!! But now they are all gone, It is nice seeing them drying up and not standing up anymore!

Tomorrow we will be doing the front yard and the side yards. Busy busy busy!!

Been a long time..

Well it has been a long time since I made a entry. Been very busy trying to get a schedule for the family and boy has it been hard. But I think we have one that will work now I pray it will!! It is kinda like the one I posted here before, but has a few changes in it. We use a timer to make sure things get done in the time allowed and if not done and is school the kids have a make-up time to do there work then. If the work is not done because it is too hard it is different I just work with them more and they don’t have to do it in make up time.

I have put together a home management binder to help me to be able to keep things organized around the house.

I am working on putting together a Home budget binder to help us with our spending.

My pregnancy is going well our little guy is a little mover!  Need to get going now and teach the kids. I plan on posting here daily if I can.

First Midwife Appointment

My first midwife appointment was a very normal first appointment. Had to leave a urine sample, like I will have to do every appointment till I have the baby. The midwife Linda same midwife I had for my pregnancy with TJ, was excited and happy to see me. She is a great midwife, she felt my belly, and did a pap and said everything looked normal. Then she sent all my appointment info to Dr. Hedstrom, the perinatologist, who saw me my last two pregnancies. I will be getting a call next week for my ultrasound, it will be a 3d one, she is a really good doctor.

Sorry it has been awhile!

Sorry it has been awhile. I have been busy, morning sickness is getting to me now and I am very tired. But all is good my little blessing is growing well! Shannon went to teen camp last week with our church she had a great time. Ian is moving on to the next grade and excited about it, I am too he loves to learn. Shawn is doing well he is trying hard to be a good boy, but sometimes he is pushing trying to get away with things he knows are wrong.

TJ is walking!! On the 4th of July he just stood up and was like I am a walker now! We got it on Video too

Here it is

He got his 1st tooth poking threw on the 4th too, the 4th was a big day for TJ, we can’t get a picture of his little tooth yet but we will soon.

Shane is going to the Calvary Baptist Academy on Wednesday Todd will be driving him out there. I pray he lets the Lord work on his heart and lets the Lord turn his life around; Shane really can become a very good man if he lets God into his life.

I miss my Maya so much I have talked to her a few times and she does not seem like she is having a good time, or something is going on that is brothering her. My poor baby girl, wish she was home now. I think she wishes she was home now too. She will be home soon July 27, seems like a long time. We are going to have a birthday party for her when she gets home she has not had a birthday here in a long time, my baby girl will be 8 years old!!

Aunt Selma

My Aunt Selma is like a second mom to me. She has always been there for me, and for my mom. She took care of me for a year of my life when I was a teenager, it was the year I  was 16 and I was pregnant,  I had made some wrong choices but with the help of her and my mom I made a really good but hard choice. She helped me find adoptive parents for my first born son Ruben, it was very hard but I know it was best for him and for me. He has wonderful parents raising him that love him so much. Sometimes I day dream about how life would be with him with me but in the end I know what I did is what God ad planed for him.

This is him now growing up well!

My Aunt Selma has always liked getting me little things every now and then just to let me know she is thinking about me, praying for me and loves me. She did it again today I got a necklace from her it is very pretty. I feel so loved by her and import to her. I am so luck to have my Aunt Selma, a Aunt who loves me like I am her daughter.

Here is the necklace:

Guess what!!

OK so here it is we have been blessed again I am so excited! Like with my pregnancy with TJ I always have the thoughts of “what if this pregnancy is like my one with Elijah”. Then I worry, I try not to but I do. Elijah was born at 23 weeks and went home to the Lord.  When I was pregnant with him I stared bleeding around 9 weeks, I had an acute sub-chronic hemorrhage, a small area where the placenta was not attached right, so it caused bleeding I was told it should go away, of and on till I was 23 weeks I would bleed, not a little I mean bleed A LOT, was very scary. At 22 week my water broke I was admitted to the hospital and given steroids to help Elijah’s lungs, at 23 weeks he was born into my hands trying to breath and not one was there to help it was me my husband Elijah and Jesus, Jesus touched me and gave me peace as he took my son Elijah home to heaven with him.

So I am pregnant again and my faith has grown but I will never forget what I have gone though. But I will put all my trust in Jesus to take care of me and the life growing in my womb and the rest of my family, I am truly blessed to have so many gift from God I love each and everyone the God Blesses me and Todd with.

So far with this pregnancy I am very tired, very moody, hot, gassy, I get headaches easily, a little crampy, and super bloated!! It is still setting in that I am pregnant again! Praise the Lord he is so awesome even now as I am typing this he is working in my womb creating the child he wants me to raise to the and honor him!

New books for mommy!

We got the Managers of Their Homes complete kit in the mail today!! My mom bought it for us I am so excited to get started, I can’t wait!! The books all look like they will be very helpful for me. Managers of Their Homes will help with scheduling all the kids, mine, and Todd’s time wisely. Managers of Their Chores will help us get the cleaning done around here so Shannon and I are not over loaded!!

I got a lot of good books on home schooling that I can’t wait to read, Preparing Sons to Provide for a Single-Income Family, by Steven Maxwell, Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit, by Teri Maxwell, Just Around the Corner, by Steven and Teri Maxwell, Keeping Our Children's Hearts, by Steven and Teri Maxwell and their Encouragement for the Homeschooling Family to listen too. So much to do!

School in the Summer

Yesterday was a hard day Shawn is still working on his auto-biography he is on the final copy and making it take forever! He really needs to just tell himself he can do it and do it. He keeps telling himself he can’t, I have told him he has to want to get it done to get it done and always being negative will not help. He will get it done sooner or later!

Ian and hand writing don’t mix! Boys are so hard to teach penmanship, His letters are everywhere! He is getting better but some time it looks like he is drawling little animals and not letters. He is moving on to 1st grade now, I really don’t thin I will be able to get him right to where Maya is but he will be close His reading is coming along great!! He is at the point where he reads the word right then, second guesses himself but he will get it!

Close the time for teen camp comes the more spacey Shannon gets! She would be asked to do something then with in seconds of being told she has no clue at al what she was told! She is going to have to stop being spacey, or she is going to have no spending money for camp. Chores need to be done for spending money!

Scheduling

Managers of Their Homes or as most call it MOTH. I am hoping to get there complete kits here soon so I can put there books to use in my family. I have a copy of MOTH and have been trying to find the best schedule for us, and boy can that be hard! I think I have a schedule worked out for now but it will need some tuning when we start using Sonlight because the kids won’t need as much time for school, hopefully we will be able to get school done in the morning and have the rest of the day of other things. I am going to be putting our schedule in to our day starting Monday, going to be a big change for us all but we need it so we all feel like we got something done during our day.

Scheduling Todd is so hard with his work schedule he works night Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Saturday. So nothing with what he does is “normal”. But we work around it I pray he gets a job in Ohio soon!

Shannon is doing home-economics today, cleaning diapers, and doing laundry. Shawn is working on his autobiography  he has for a long time now he does not like doing it but  he is going to get it done Shannon and Shane did there’s already. Maya will do one next year. Ian is about done with his last work book from Abeka. I am hoping to get him where Maya is before August.

Meet me and my Family!

I am Tanya wife to Todd; we are a  Baptist Homeschooling family. We are faithful member of our church Mesa Baptist. We have 7 children 6 here on earth and one little boy in Heaven waiting for us. Elijah was born early at 23 weeks on October 29, 2004 and went home to the Lord after being with us for about 5 minutes. Was a hard time but by the grace of God we made it though it. Todd Jr. TJ is our baby he was born Sept 20, 2005 he is a very good baby; every one loves him very much! Ian our son, was born Oct 4, 1999 he is a very caring little boy who wants to make everyone happy. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior January 2005. Maya is our daughter, was born Aug 15, 1998 she is a very happy little girl who loves to laugh and play she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior, March 2004. Shawn is our son was born Sept 7, 1994 he has been a hard one but seems like he is coming around now. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior Nov 2005. Shannon our daughter was born Oct 22, 1992, she is a very helpful girl who helps around the house with the everyday things she will become a good mom housewife when she gets older, and she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior, last March 2004. Shane our son born Nov 13, 1990,who is going though a time right now where he thinks he knows everything we are praying and asking God to help him he will be going to Calvary Academy a Christian boarding school for boys with problems.

Todd works at Intel and has for the past 9 years he is a great husband he provides well for us all. He is praying to get a job in Ohio so we could move closer to family. All or his and most of my family live there. Right now we live in a 3 bedroom house we have a boys room and a girls room, we have just painted the girls room as a garden and the love it! We are planning on making the boys room bible stories, each wall a different bible story, David and Goliath, Noah’s Ark, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego and the fiery furnace, and a Nativity. It will be a lot of work but nice once done!

My mom is a principal of Alvarado Elementary School, she does a wonderful job there the students love her and she loves them!! She is looking forward to retiring though. She plans on moving to Michigan when she retires, she would live close to her closest sister, my Aunt Selma.

The last few years we have used Abeka for homeschooling and it really is not working with our family. We plan on starting Sonlight once all the kids are done with the grades they are in now. Hoping to have Maya and Ian in 3rd grade, Shawn in 6th grade, and Shannon in 9th. Shane will be going to Calvary Academy, and be in the 9th grade. TJ seems like he wants to learn already he is always trying to get in to Ian work! We have the Your Baby can read! DVD’s that we are showing him hoping they help him to learn to read he seems to like them!

We will be doing the Keeper of Faith books this year too, as part of there curriculum. They will do projects and earn awards! Our church is planning on having a really good homeschool group this year doing many things I can’t wait till it starts up!

I year round teach the kids during the summer they work on life skills things outside of the “normal” school work... Guess you could call it chores, but they are learning as they do them, yard work, cooking, gardening, building are some of the things they will be doing!
