Broken Toes and Internet Connections

Posted in Home Life

I've returned from a wonderful camping trip and hope to reply to many of your posts soon. My internet has been unreliable of late due to "problems in your area."  Harumph!  I thought cable internet was supposed to be the best!  Alas...

I broke several toes right before our camping trip by stumbling into a box of towels.  Oh, well.  It's been six days, and I'm still limping.

This summer is flying so quickly.  We like to get in a week of school each month of summer.  So far, we've gotten in one and a half days, I think.  I guess we'll just have to homeschool into June like other people do!

I'm putting together a curriculum using The Grammar of Poetry, Understanding Writing, and ABeka's 9th grade literature book.  Whenever I actually get the syllabus figured out, I'll post a link. It would be appropriate for 7th to 10th grade.  I'm very excited about studying American history next year. My 10th grader will be taking AP US History online through PA Homeschoolers

I think I shall take my sore toes to bed and read a good book.  Do you have any remedies for broken toes?

Wear shoes to bed. That will support and protect them from the bedding.

Poor you! That sounds miserable.

Glad to have you back anyway.

OK Mary, this is how dense I am sometimes... I had seen your comments on my blog, but did not put it together that it was you til I visited your blog just now! I will be back, as I love what you have to say! Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving me comments, and I will *try* to do better on my end.

You asked about the homeschooling book? Well, it is a book I am putting together about our homeschooling experience-- what I have learned, tips, ideas, encouragement, etc. A lot like what you see in my blog, but in book form. It came about when I decided to collect ALL the writing I have done on homeschooling, and came up with alot. I realized I had a very good start on a book, and decided to make that my summer project. I have 15,000 words to go and I will be at my goal of 50,000 (your average length for a trade paperback). I will post more about it as I get closer to finishing it. I am going to self publish it with Winepress-- the same people that did my FTWR book. OK, that was probably more than you wanted to know!

Sorry, no remedies... I think I would use it as an excuse to have the kiddos take care of me -- call it "Take Care of Mommy Week"!! I bet it'll work!!

Glad you had fun camping. Now take it easy and get off those toes!!

Blessings! ~Beckie

Thanks for your comments. I visited your other blog, and read about some of your doings lately. How are the toes?

DD is almost 8, and has had seizures since she was 2 1/2. They have been pretty infrequent since she was put on medication. We have a good prognosis in that she will probably outgrow them--we just don't know when. Now would be wonderful, but I have learned not to hold my breath.

Blessings,
Karen
