Painting Repeated
Posted in Home Life
Today is another painting day. I hope this one will only take me one day (eight hours) and not more. I have four main goals before school begins, and if we can get all of them done this week, perhaps we'll start school next week. Wondering what those goals might be? No? Humor me.
1. Paint the stairs/entryway/hall (today's goal)
2. Declutter and organize all main cluttery and unorganized spots (except the basement)--much of which is already done!
3. Set up all school things including daily schedule, daily checklists, hour recording lists, work areas/desks for each child, purge old school books and organize book shelf, and syllabus for English class.
4. Write out FlyLady morning, afternoon, and bedtime routines. Begin to implement these routines
I have a fifth goal, our much-neglected budget, but that doesn't have to be done before school starts.
In other news, we had two monarch butterfly caterpillars which I named Mearle and Nancy (genders unknown). Everyone else in the world seems to be able to just stick milkweed in a vase and have happy caterpillars just sit there chewing, but Mearle and Nancy were more adventuresome. They are now missing. Nancy was too young to live without milkweed, but Mearle was about ready to chrysalise. I keep looking for a bright green chrysalis, but so far, I've been unsuccessful. James is a bit freaked out at large, loose insects in the house, but I figure they fell down the heating vent.

Big goals!! You can do it!!! (Insert cute cheerleader kick.)
Hmmm.... Missing monarchs, huh? I can't even get a spider plant to survive, so I have a long ways to go in order to have monarch butterflies in the house. Sorry.... I am not very helpful in the butterfly department. I suppose I could try a cute cheer for the butterflies -- "Come home, silly butterflies! C-O-M-E H-O-M-E! Come home!" *Did it work?*

Aug. 22, 2006 - Did you get the painting done?

Your goals sound reachable. I don't know if you've told me how many you are schooling? Children that is, not butterflies. Hope you find them, by the way.
I have my morning and bedtime routines written and am trying to do most of what is on them every day. I haven't managed the hotspot thing yet. The afternoon thing isn't there yet. I have a partial one written out, but every day seems to have different demands.
I checked at the library for "Sink Reflections" and it isn't in their system at all. Boo hoo! I shall have to find someone who has it, because I'm too cheap to buy it. It would become clutter quickly in this house, as we are very short on bookcases!
Blessings,

My DH isn't keen either. He will be 46 this September, so in some ways I can hardly blame him. If I was turning 46, I would be done too. It is just hard to see that time of life come to an end. I still have baby stuff in wonderful condition, and I haven't had the heart to give much of it away yet. His lack of excitement about the idea isn't the only thing standing in our way however. I have a history of early miscarriages, and I don't think I am up to the emotional rollercoaster of the first 10-12 weeks. Adoption is on my mind these days, but I'm not sure I could convince him of that either.
How are you coming on your goals? Will you be able to start next week?
Blessings,
Karen

That would be great! The down side is that we already have the third grade book, and I am not too likely to update for DS.
If you get to write it, please change the graphing problems so you don't have to call 20 friends and family members before you can do the graph. We have ended up making up stuff. I tried the calling bit once and the lesson took about two hours. The idea is fun, but it isn't practical.
That's great news for you, and I hope you get the job.
