Jesus Is The Light!
My daughter told me one day when she was sitting in her room that Jesus was there. She actually pointed her finger and showed me. That day she pointed to a wall in her room. She is 3 years old and we have been teaching her about Jesus all her life. I even prayed while she was being formed in my womb that she would know Jesus before she was born. So when she told me He was there I had no doubt. He is always with us. Then I found out that she had told her daddy sometime before me that Jesus was in her room when he was in there with her. She did the same thing....pointed to the wall.
Well, one day in the living room she looked up at our light on the ceiling and said "There is Jesus. He is the light!" I had to giggle, because even though she pointed to the physical light, she knew Jesus was the Light. The Lord has shown her in His own way that He is the Light. Now, we may have read something or sang something that said that as well. But I think it is amazing for a 3yr old child to have this understanding and I praise the Lord that she does. She still talks to us about Jesus being the light and the other day she looked up and said, "See how He glows?" She was referring to the reflection of light that poured out on the ceiling. I know He is revealing Himself to her in a very special way.
I had purchased a picture from DaySpring called The Lion of Judah. My mom had it framed for me as a Christmas gift but we didn't take it to be framed until the week of Christmas, so I didn't get to pick it up until the middle of January. I was holding out for the 1/2 price frame sale at Hobby Lobby. Anyway, I hung it up in our dining room and my daughter faces it every time she eats a meal. Tonight, she asked me if that picture was Jesus. I answered yes. This picture has a beautiful golden glow around Jesus. But tonight, she noticed the lions on either side of Him. She asked me if Jesus had lions and I said yes. Then I said Jesus is the Lion of Judah. She said, oh, and then thanked me for hanging up the picture. I can't wait to see how she begins to understand the meaning of the Lion of Judah!

Peanut Butter and Jelly
Friday evening after church, my daugther (3 yrs old) and I were standing in the kitchen looking for a snack. None of my suggestions sounded good to her. I could tell she was really thinking about what it was that she wanted when she looked up at me with the most adorable expression and asked, "Mommy, can I make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? I'm a good cook and I can do it." The expression on her face would have made you think she had just received the best present in the world. Since I have been teaching her to help bake I decided to allow her make her own sandwich.
She got the jelly out of the fridge and I got the peanut butter down from the shelf along with the bread. She got a knife to "spread, spread, spread" (her words) and spoon to get the jelly out of the jar. She used one piece of bread and when she was done she folded it, took hold of her plate, stood straight and tall and turned to me and said, "I did it! I did a good job!". I hugged her and told her how pleased I was that she could make her own sandwich. Of course, Saturday and today she had to make her own sandwich again. In fact, she just got through making the one for today.
