Smoky Mountain Women's Retreat
This Friday and Saturday, May 16-17, 2008 is the Smoky Mountain Women's Retreat at Johnson Bible College outside of Knoxville. It's a great weekend to spend some relaxing time with other sisters in Christ and to refresh and rejuvenate. We are expecting a record crowd of over 400 ladies this year!
There will be several workshops on this year's theme, "There's No Place Like Home" including one on homeschooling (okay, so I'm leading that one...with some help from Letitia and others.) Kay Watts Moll is the main speaker and worship music is provided by 2 or More.
See JBC's news and events page for more details.

Marriage Makeover
Here's an interesting site that I was directed to by other homeschool moms:

The site says:
Let’s face it. Homeschooling is a huge commitment. Navigating the unique intricacies of balancing homeschooling and marriage can create tension and stress. It’s easy to focus on the job of homeschooling your children, and give your marriage the “leftovers”.
| It's easy to focus on the job of homeschooling and give your marriage the leftovers. |
EMM: Homeschool Edition’s mission is to help restore balance and revitalize your marriage through a weekend filled with Christ-centered workshops, general sessions and personal time designed specifically for homeschooling parents.
We believe that God’s word still has the best advice
for restoring hope and rekindling the passion of the one-flesh relationship.

Calendar of Events
This is a site that I use quite often to find out what type of seasonal events are going on around our state. I have it listed on the side bar here, for your reference, but I thought I'd bring it to the top again, just in case some of you haven't had the chance to check it out.
It's the Calendar of Events page at the Tennessee Farm and Home Magazine (it's a PDF file). They update it quarterly so it's always current. Check it out and let's visit our own state!
Of course, the Tennessee Department of Tourism has a great, updated site about happenings around our state too.
Happy Spring! Betsy
