Dinosaur World

Posted in field trips
Dinosaur World honors home school students
Dinosaur World in Cave City, Kentucky, is celebrating home school students by designating the entire month of April as “Home School Month”.  During April, all home school students and their families will receive the park’s group rate discount of $6 per person.
Having fun through education is a top priority at Dinosaur World, as is meeting the needs of the hundreds of home school students visiting Dinosaur World each year.

In April, any home school student, home school teacher, and their siblings, can receive the $6 admission.  Park officials request this email or a news release containing this information be presented prior to ticket purchase. Other home school documentation is also welcome.

Educational materials to accompany the field trip can be accessed via the website at www.dinoworld.net and clicking “education and group information” or by contacting the park for a teachers guide.  Information on educational outreach programs is also available.

Dinosaur World is an outdoor dinosaur museum with over 100 life-size dinosaurs. The Indoor Prehistoric Museum houses fossil exhibits. At the Fossil Dig, visitors sift through sand in a paleontological setting in search of authentic fossils to take home. The Movie Cave shows a short educational movie on dinosaurs. Other park exhibits include interactive stations, playgrounds, picnic areas and more.

Located approximately one hour from both Louisville and Nashville on Interstate 65, Exit 53, Dinosaur World is a short trip from many locations. For more information on Dinosaur World, home school month, or outreach programs, contact the park at 270-773-4345, e-mail dinosaurworld@scrtc.com or visit www.dinoworld.net. Groups of 12 or more home school students may take advantage of the $6 group discount anytime throughout the year with advance reservations.

Belle Meade Plantation

Posted in field trips
Activities: Nashville

"Due to the overwhelming response to our first three years of home school events, Belle Meade Plantation is proud to continue offering this special opportunity just for home school groups.  On these days the 10-student minimum will be waived enabling smaller groups and individual families to reserve a field trip without having to coordinate with other groups.  Your group will be participating in programs on-site with other home school groups only.  Due to space constraints, groups of 15 or more are asked to book a private tour.  In order to participate in these days, you must call ahead to reserve a time of arrival for that day.  The Education Department can be reached at (615) 356-0501 ext.26.  You may also reach us by email: Education@BelleMeadePlantation.com"
