Oct. 29, 2006 - Mrs. Benders???

For those of you who do not know, my name is not Mrs. Benders. I wrote an article earlier about my son loving Mind Benders so much that he calls himself, Dash Benders. Well, a woman in the music program was asking me about Singapore Math. I had to stay a little late so, I brought my son's math book. Well, she took my first grader's math book and was looking it over. She returned it to me and said, "thank you, Mrs. Benders."
My son put by the name section: Dash Benders. So, she thought my last name was Benders. I ran up to her and whispered, "my son is in love with Mind Benders and so, he calls himself Dash Benders. My last name is not Benders." Her eyes met mine with an empty stare.
I felt really embarrassed. I do not think that she has heard of Mind Benders. She would not want her sons addicted to solving problems all day. They always want to do it over their schoolwork.
So, continues the saga of Mind Benders. Who knows what my children will create with this program?
Here is a song they made up:
Mind benders, Mind benders,
Bend your mind until it looks fuunny!
Mind benders, Mind benders,
Bend your mind today!
If anyone wants to know more about Mind Benders, I believe that Critical Thinking Company has a website. We will see if this program comes through on its claims when my children take the IOWAs in May of 2007.
Soli Deo Gloria

I love the one below about Writing Tales, too. You have quite a creative son!
Thank you for your post on my blog about Mondays and for your question about my little one. He is 3 months old now, and he has quite a personality. He has all of us waiting on his every need. He has the croup right now, and the children are put out with me, since I am trying to keep them from getting it from him, so I am limiting their hands-on contact with him. The poor deprived children!
Have a blessed day! Tami

Haha....Mrs. Benders! That's a good one. I'm amazed this gal stared at you. Doesn't she have any kids? I have a daughter who's email addy starts with "Mrs. Bloom" because she's got a crush on the actor, Orlando Bloom :)
Your blog looks so nice. I love the picture of Jesus up in the corner---awesome!
Sorry it took me so long, but I am finally sending you the eBook. Hope you like it :)
Take care,
Barb
