May. 9, 2008 - Here is my tentative 5th grader's schedule:
I cannot think about third grade yet. My younger son is giving me a run for the money. I will post his schedule after I figure out certain things.
Math: Singapore 5A/5B
Reading: Ambleside Online Literature, Shakespeare, and Plutarch. I will follow Ambleside Online's schedule
Science: Science Sleuth, I am teaching science through literature. Here is my latest experiment in trying something different.
Writing: Writing Tales II I will continue it because my son enjoyed this program throughly.
History: This is another situation where my son dictated the course of my selections. He absolutely loves Story of the World. So, we are repeating the 4 year cycle instead of Ambleside's recommended 6 year cyle. Story of the World Volumen I for 5th grade
Latin: Latina Christiana II I heard that this program gets tougher because there is more grammar. I will see if I should divide this into two years or stick to one year. I am wondering with Writing Tales II and Latina Christiana II if it will be stretching him. He said though that he wants the challenge.
Logic: Building Thinking Skills Book 2 part 2 and Mindbenders B1
Poetry: Ambleside Online suggestions
Art: AmblesideOnline suggestions
Nature study: great outdoors and books from the library
Music: Music program through our local support group which consists of Suzuki violin lessons and choir. Then we have private piano lessons.
