My younger son had a good week.  We are still learning how to convert in math.  He is learning how to convert grams into kilograms.  I told him to think about last week's lessons.  He learned about meters and kilometers.  So, it is the same idea.  I just hope that he sees it.  He is getting better at his workbook problems.  One day this week, he actually got 100% of the problems correct.  I am happy to see this.  Math is his struggle.  Any amount of success is a step in the right direction.

He completed lesson 14 in Latina Christiana I.  He also did lessons 76-78 in First Language Lessons 3.  I just wanted to say that the lessons in Latina Christiana and First Language Lessons were about predicate nominatives.  He learned in Latina Christiana how adjectives have to agree with the noun they are describing in case, number, and gender.   The sentences that he had to translate were predicate adjective sentences.  In First Language Lessons, he had to diagram predicate adjective sentences.

In Story of the World, he learned about the Rus and the two Ivans.

He is learning how to stack in Building Thinking Skills Level 2, the  figural section.  They did some Mindbenders too.

I want to share the exciting news!  My older son finished Our Island Story by H.E. Marshall. Yay!!! Party!  He completed the book.  He will now read this Country of Ours.  Another bigoted book!  I know that some of you must wonder why I would allow my child to read such books.  I know that bigotry is out there.  I cannot deny it.  I think that it is better that my children learn about prejudice in the home environment where we can talk about it and work it through.  I think that teaching prejudice this way is better than them getting it  outside of the home.

He did Henle 1, exercises 24-25.  He did Building Thinking Skills Level 3 verbal.  He is in the reorganizing section.

Here is the exciting news!  My older son just completed Primary Mathematics 6B. This means he is totally done with Sinapore Math's Primary Mathematics!!   My older son is out of the elementary math.  We are now going on to a new and exciting adventure in mathematics.  We are moving on to New Elementary Mathematics!

We have an exciting school year.  My older son is working in Henle year 1 and now New Elementary Mathematics.  New challenges await us.

My older son is practicing to be in a Festival of Strings Orchestra.  It is sponsored by the Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra.  He is in third violin.  This is his first year.  He has some challenges here because he has only 2 weeks of rehearsal and then they perform.

The boys had no music program this week because of snow.  They only had private piano lessons.  They are working in a book called the Leila Fletcher Piano Course.

My younger son is in Book 2's Discovery 7 of TnT in AWANA.  My older son completed Book 4.  He is going over his golds and silvers.

So they haven't updated the language the way CHOW was done (although I still think CHOW reads eurocentric)?

Sounds like a great week.

I'm very impressed you made it all the way through Primary Mathmatics. Make sure to let us know how NEM goes. I am praying for your families' health. I had eye surgery a few years ago and know how worrisome that can be. Thanks for sharing your week.
