Our Garden: Ray works, We reap the benefits!

Spring means beautiful weather, wildflowers, and GARDENS!  Ray has been so excited about his garden this year, and has been planning since last year.  He has spent hours pouring over catalogs and doing (probably) thousands of web searches.  The time has finally come and he is so excited and all fired up.  If all he has planted does well, it will mean for ENDLESS hours in the kitchen canning, preparing and freezing.  But we will enjoy the bounty of his effort long into the fall.

This is a short list of what he has in the garden now (or started in pots on the back porch:

Tomatoes (several varieties from striped to grape)

cucumbers (several varieties)

squash

Cantelope

Watermelon

beans, including black eyes

brussel sprouts

salad greens

Okra

Onions

Herbs (from parsley and cilantro to a variety of basil)

strawberries

Even some talk of sponge(??) and warm weather brocolli and cauliflower

Ray could probably add to this list, but this is all I can come up with.  So take a look, these pictures were taken yesterday.

Well, I am signing off for today.  Don't forget where Jesus was on this day some many years ago.  He was preparing for Calvary, for each one of us.
