Day 14

So...the tournament's over, and I have rather good news........my partner and I WON FIRST PLACE!!!!!! We had the awards ceremony today, and we found out that several judges gave us a PERFECT SCORE! I am really excited. It is late now, and I just finished dancing...(an old English style dance, where men wear jackets, and ladies wear gowns) and I am exhausted. Dancing is a good way to get all that speech-making out of your system though. Well, it is late for me now, and I have to awake early for the three hour drive home. Congratulations!! That's really awesome. What speech did you do-- was it from a book or a movie or something? I'm going to be competing in speech this next semester as well. It'll be my first time to try it, so wish me luck! In the meantime, I still need to register, and cut and block the speech... and try to make it dramatic enough: (i.e. sad.)

Well, it was on a play by Neil Simon, called "A Defenseless Creature." It is a humorous duo, so it was QUITE funny. I hope you do well at your competition...you should I think.

Hmm, I haven't heard of that play before. But it must be hilarious if you had your audience rolling on the floor laughing. *wink*

I'm doing a speech about a young Romanian woman who was imprisoned by the communists. The problem is, the book I'm taking it from isn't that great. So I'm going to have a lot of work to do here! But I have hope for it yet. :-)
