Today we entered Ginger's 4-H pottery pieces in the county fair. I never knew that there was so much paperwork involved. Here are her pieces that she is presenting. This picture is of her Egyptian style beaded necklace. The long piece on the bottom is a cartouche with her name written in hieroglyphs. The two skinny beads she made were shaped as fish. This was to represent Africa. ![]() This next picture shows Ginger's piece she made on the potter's wheel and a Koala bear she painted in Aboriginal dot style representing Australia. Then, representing Asia, is her pinch pot tea cup. She chose traditional Ming Dynasty colors. I didn't realize I cut off her coil pot representing North America. I will try to get a picture of that when she demonstrates. ![]() Representing Europe, is her plate she painted in traditional Austrian style and colors. (Forgive the odd shape. I spent quite a while trying to delete her name out of the photo.) ![]() Then, finally, she put in her rose she made at JesusFest. My lousy picture really does not do it justice. It came out very good. ![]() There is no piece representing South America, because they were 20 piece Nativities made in the style of Mexico (mostly white and gold leaf accented with small amounts of red, blue, and black). The three sets completed by all of the kids were donated to two nursing homes and a homeless shelter. There is also no piece representing Antarctica. |
