The New Jerusalem

in Poems, Stories and Riddles - Leave a Note

I recently found this poem that I wrote sometime last year and I wanted to share it. I never finished it but as I intend to write no more on it, I suppose it is complete.

In the new Jerusalem
How will it be?
What will it be like?
What will I see?

There shall be no sorrows there,
There shall not be any tears.
There shall  not be any dying there
And no, there will not be any fears.

There shall not be any crying there,
There shall not be any pain.
For God who rules in this place
Will everything sustain.

The fearful will not enter there,
Nor will the unbelieving.
Murderers, sorcerers, *****mongers and idolaters,
Shall be with those who lie and are deceiving.

They shall have their part in the lake
That is burning with fire and brimstone.
But there are those who will be in Heaven -
It is those who by Jesus are atoned.

The Holy Jerusalem -
How will it look?
What is it made of?
Let us take a look.

It has the glory of God.
Her light is like precious stones.
There is a wall both great and high
Are some of the things that are known.

There are twelve gates
Set in the great wall.
Three each on the north, south, east and west,
But still that is not all.

To the KING be all the glory!

Hi! I am glad you enjoyed reading my poem! Thanks so much for commenting on it.

The one you posted is also very interesting. I really liked it, though. It had a very unique ending, didn't you think? But it was very pretty.

Do you like to write any poetry of your own? Just wondering, you know. I like experimenting with poetry, and I enjoy talking about it with other people who do too.

Anyway, that's all,

Namarie,
Raora

I actually like that ending to the poem. I gives a feeling of incompleteness (in a good way) and desire. Fitting for this subject, I think.
