Now, I know how many of you feel about anti-biotics and immunizations and I tend to agree with you. They are pumped up, overused, and don't always work. This is very true. We are watching the scary development of MRSA and other resistent infections. I will have to share our personal MRSA story sometime. Now as many troubles as there are with antibiotics, I thank God for them. This past week my son developed a rash. I noticed it as I gave him a bath in the morning. I didn't think much of it, maybe a minor alergic reaction. He has alergies and has had mysterious rashes before. By early afternoon i called my personal nurse(mom) who told me to give him some benedryl, so I did. He appeared to be fine so we went to our art class and gym time. After we left and got home, he went outside to play with his brother and came in having alittle difficulty breathing and complained that his throat hurt. I looked at his rash and it covered his body. I called the doctor and they said to bring him in. He had a bad case of strep and scarlet fever. This came on fast and worsened quickly but the doctor assured me, within twenty-four hours he was no longer contagious and that the symptoms would began to disappear. This was true, the next day was difficult but then he was fine. This used to be a serious chilhood illness but now, thanks to antibiotics and along with God's heeling power it isn't. So when I think of antibiotics, I think they are neccasary sometimes, but not for everything. Just another occasion to praise the Lord, not that we need a reason.

I completely agree w/ the use of antibiotics. There has been times that I may have died if not for them and the grace of God.
That rash is scary, and yes thank God, for the some meds and doctors that care. Oh, and of course for dr. mom!
I'm glad your son is okay now.

Thank you for your prayers! Did you have a post where you share about your journey with adoption? I would love to read about it! I will be praying for you too!
I was just diagnosed with some kind of tonsilitis or viral strep. The strep test was negative, but I have the swollen tonsils with mucus spots. Yuck! I too am very thankful for antibiotic. I tried to beat it on my own for a few days and it was just getting harder and harder to swallow.
Praising God your son is better! In Him, Eva

Oh my goodness, I bet that was scary. Praise God he is okay. Last week, my son who loves to climb trees got bitten by something. He had a bite on his back and one his chest. At first it looked like an ant bite. Then it began to get bigger. It didn't itch but did begin to hurt and so I took him in and they gave him a round of antibiotics and a dose of steroids. I agree with what you say about antibiotics. Sometimes you just gotta have them!
Thanks for you comment on my site!

I just wrote an entry the other day about antibiotics. I used to agree with antibiotics until Copycat got C Diff. It is horrible. She was on an antibiotic that was to clear up her sinus infection and instead she got a horrible contagious intestinal infection. In the future I am going to be more strict when they want to put my kids on an antibiotic unless it is really really necessary. I am glad to hear everything is going well with son.

So glad he's doing better! I agree with you...God has given scientists the know-how to develop such medicines. So long as they are not misused, they can be used for the good of healing!

I am thankful for antibotics too. I know that they are often overused, but there are times when they are life savers. Glad your son is feeling better.

God gave us antibiotics for a reason. Not to pump them in every time we have a sniffle, but for times like those. I'm so glad he's ok now.
