Every now and then Shane takes charge of the science experiments.  When he does, watch out....

Once we learned about air pressure by adding dry ice to a 20 oz bottle 1/2 full of boiling water.  Screw on the lid tightly and you have about 2 seconds to duck, run for cover, or pray.  The explosion was such that we found peices of the bottle on the next street up.   Seriously.  Dangerous.  Stuff.  It blew the handle off of our grill and dented the metal cover.

Sigh.  No Sonlight catalog for me today.  Will it ever come? 

Last night Corbin read the first SIX chapters of Dolphins at Daybreak in less time than it took to read one chapter a mere two months ago. 

He hasn't wanted to read anything that was long enough to need chapters- I think he was intimidated by the amount of time it took him to finish a book.  So thank you BloglessLeigh, for your class and for their assignments. 

In the last four weeks Corbin has read or had read to him the following books.  I know I have left off a few that he checked out of the library, but I can't remember what the titles were.  The numbers indicate what chapter in Story of the World (2) the book corresponded to.  If there is no number, it was one of his free reading books- in other words, it was an unassigned title of his choosing.
