Cleaning House on Saturdays ~

Today I am cleaning my house  - except for at this moment when I just need to take a break.  I love a clean house. I  was raised with a mom who set the standard high.  She is an amazing start to finish type of woman.  When it was house cleaning day - always Saturday mornings - we had our assigned duties which were carried out or else.  She did make it fun by turning on an 8 track (if you don't know what that is don't worry I don't forsee them making a comeback) of a musical like "Man of La Mancha" or "West Side Story" or "Godspell".  These Saturday mornings would eventually give me the songs I would use later as I pursued a major in Musical Theater however.... I have a very definite (or defiante I guess would work here too)dislike for spending my Saturdays cleaning.  So with that I have tried to do it differently by arranging to clean during the week.  Thereby leaving my weekends open for adventure.  I am an idealist to say the least.  For as the years would prove to me that Saturday usually becomes the best day to clean my house.  I still resist this as becoming my routine BUT alas here I am once again taking my Saturday to clean my house.  Only the music has changed from "The Sound of Music" to anything by Audio Adrenalin or Super Chick or Jeremy Camp & in CD format of course.

Well if I am going to get this house clean or else  - I better get back to work.

I would love to know what ideas you have for when is the best day of the week to clean?

8 tracks! Now there's a flashback! That seems to be the oft forgotten chain in the evolution of recorded music. I doubt they will make a come back, but the Atari has, so who knows?

Here, house cleaning is an ongoing task. I do a different task each day (except Sunday) and then it isn't so overwhelming. Dusting one day, floors the next, tidying another and so on. It isn't perfect but it works for me.

Hope you enjoy the book.

I do not like to clean anymore as it is such a big chore for my body. I love a clean and organized home so I will kill myself to get it that way. I have trained my kids to stay clean and organized as they have learned their cleaning efforts are not so bad if they do not mess the house up. Some have not learned that secret yet. By teaching them to clean they have been alot better about choosing to mess or not. We clean everyday and they each get 1 or 2 jobs in the morning. If a realtor should ever call for a showing, the house would only take 3 more hours to sparkle then. hee hee. Please join in my tag and have some fun after all that hard work. hee hee.

Aug. 15, 2006 - Clean house? What's that?

Posted by TLSRINGER
I wish that someone would just come in and clean my whole house for me, except then I wouldn't be able to find anything! lol! When I use to work, Saturdays were about the only day I could clean but then I liked to sleep in on Sat. mornings so things never got done. I usually do the mad dash to clean my house when someone is coming over. Recently though, we have ended up with items that came from my dad's house (he sold his house) and things from our daughters place (she is staying with a friend right now). We moved a few years back and the only place we have to store anything is in our shed which is being used as a garage for my husbands motorcycle. I miss not having an attic or garage! I find it all so overwhelming and can't seem to get motivated to clean it. I took at picture of my teapots the other day and had to move a candle holder that was in the way. When I did that, it left a big clean ring that I didn't even notice until I posted the picture! Egads! What will people think when they see that? ha! One of these days my house will be clean. Maybe we just need to pretend it's for sale and keep it picked up and clean like we did our old house? Loved the memories of the 8 tracks (I still have some of them).
