Went to see my midwife today. For those of you who don't know, we are going to have a hospital birth with a midwife. I've never done the homebirth thing, and I'm not really one for trying those things. Remember I am a medical professional myself, so I know intimately all the things that could go wrong...
Anyway, I had a great check-up. God is good and has heard my prayer. Although little boy was measuring 4 cm big a month ago, now he is only measuring 1 cm over dates! (What that means is that I am 33 weeks, and he is measuring 34 cm). After having a 12 lb, 3 oz baby, I was very concerned that this little guy might be big too. Hallelujah, I think he is going to be more toward the normal end of size! I only gained one pound this time around too. So far, I have gained 35 lbs or so, which is really good for me (I usually gain 60 lbs with each pregnancy!).
I am a bit on the anemic side. Time to start taking my prenatal vitamins again and eating foods high in iron. I will have to pick up some raisins next time I'm in town. Those and dried prunes were my favorite source of iron after 3dd2's birth. I do eat a fair amount of red meat and green leafy veggies (salads, etc). Those finger-stick hemoglobins aren't the most accurate anyway. I have been a bit short of breath now and then, and living at an altitude of 8600 feet, my hemoglobin should be a little on the high side.
P.S. They started working on our new living room addition. I will try to update with pictures now and then. We're very excited about this.
Wow! I thought I had it rough with my nine-and-a-half pounder! I'm so glad everything is going well. Hopefully he will make his appearance a little early if he's going to be a bigun!
My last two were 10 and 1/2 pounder's. I blame it on the Kootenay water ! lol. I am glad this one doesn't seem so big. I hope your iron level levels out real soon. I too had a mid wife in the hospital for the last two boys. I loved it and I feel it is the best way to go ( having a mid wife ). God bless. I think it is great that you have already started school. So when the baby comes it isn't such a panic. (0:
God Bless,
In Him,
How exciting to be adding a little man to your girly household soon! And good grief, a 12 pounder!?!?!? My biggest was 9lb. 4oz and that was quite big enough, thanks! No wonder you don't want to try the homebirth thing. (which I did 3 times, whew.)
You're almost done! I know it will be the slowest seven weeks of your life though : ) Thanks for your comments on my blog - especially for your advice on how to get cheese out of my son's ear. I have a feeling it won't be the last time somebody stuffs something in their ear, and your advice will come in very handy : ) Have a great week!
having a midwife come! We had my last two baby brothers at home. It's not that hard either!!! I got to cut the cord on Caleb, (The youngest.)
Come see what I posted today!
Your Friend,
Rachel
...for the update! Do you have his name chosen yet? Speaking of names, you know WILL have to change your blog title, right? lol
I bet you are looking forward to that little guy. It's nice to have the experience of raising both girls and boys (though I wouldn't know!). I look forward to your house pictures--sounds exciting!
Have a great weekend!
~Amy
Well it won't be long now until you have a new little one in your arms. I hope you have a beautiful birth, its so scary and exciting all rolled into one. Do you know if it's a boy or a girl? Did you say boy in a post previous?
I am excited that you are going to get your addition done. We are thinking of doing some serious remodeling, but so far we are keeping busy with little projects here and there. We will hire out for the big stuff though. Too time consuming for us.
Ohhh boy names....hehehe...I feel like an expert...lol
We tried to go with biblical names for our boys obviously, but man its tough to make the unique but not so far out there. Let's see there is Micah, Jonah, Solomon, Saul, of course any of my boy names, Samuel (not so unique though) Caleb, Elijah, Elisha, I could go on, but to be honest you can find them all online. I hope you guys have fun with it and you find one you absolutley ADORE!
If you would like to have some help with your template for Fall I wouldn't mind helping you at all. We could even give you the three column template if you like. But if you would just like a different background and a few things I can probably help with that too. Just email me with what you would like, and I will do my best!
Whew....a 12 lbs. baby! You are amazing. I loved our midwives. We did have 2 home births. Not sure what I'd do now that I'm older and have teen boys in the house. Not that we're having any more to worry about that, lol.
Can't wait to see the pictures of your living room. I liked your house tour :)
One thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. To behold the beauty, the beauty of the Lord. To inquire in His temple, the temple of the Lord.
This is my everyday thoughts about being a mother to three little ladies (12, 10 and 5) and a three year old son. We serve God full-time, and I am a physician assistant. I have the most awesome husband in the world. I am trying to seek and serve God with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength.
