Guess who came to visit today?I’ll give you some clues.
This is the door to the freezer room (a building where we keep our freezers and some pantry items).
This is some of the things they found.Potato chips, pizzas, a rump roast, and some frozen cheeseburger sticks. Fortunately they were only able to get into one of the freezers, and fortunately they didn’t make a worse mess.
This is what they left behind (besides the food mess).
So, who do you think our visitors were?If you guessed bears, you are right.Sorry, no pics. They hung around for 30 minutes this morning, but no one let me in on the excitement until after it was over and most of it was cleaned up.So far 5 bears have been spotted. One a 400 lb brown, black bear, one a 300 lb black, black bear, and the others are a small mother with two little cubs.Last night they tried to shoot them with rubber bullets when they returned to the freezer room, but missed the black, black bear. Today they tore up the door frame to the freezer room but didn't get in, and they tore up our trash trailer and drug trash everywhere. It has become a big problem.
Show and Tell Friday is sponsored by Canadagirl. Stop on over and see all the other wonderful entries for this from her blog. It is great fun and a great way to meet new and old friends.
We used to camp in bear country. They tried to get into our camper one night (we were inside). Eeek!! I've seen first hand what they can do. I love and respect them for their power if nothing else. Sorry for the damage, that's not good.

Sorry about all the damage, but what great pictures!
My family camped a lot when I was little and I remember one time a bear visited our campsite at night and left awesome toothmarks in a plastic mug. I was devastated when my dad threw it away - he didn't know that I'd wanted to take it back home for ---- SHOW & TELL at school! LOL
WOW what excitement you have had ! They can be pains even if they are beautiful animals. I am glad they didn't get to the other freezers. Oh, btw. I have put my post. Me being in Pacific Standard time I tend to have to make others wait. I might have to make my post on Thursday so I can post it before I go to bed. lol. (((hugs)))
Oh my! I wouldn't know what with a frenzied raccoon... much less a mama bear and cubs. Good luck. I hope they don't get hurt though.
Blessings,
Mama Karen
So glad no one gotten hurt. Do the bears normally go and do that to your pantry a lot? Wow, on the picture's too. We'll be praying they don't come back.
This is a great S&T. I loved the mystery pictures. I had to go to your profile and remind myself where you lived. I didn't guess bears, but I should have. How very scary!
I thought the Wild Turkey's we've had in our yard lately were exciting. Not compared to this!! I'll be praying for some extra hedges of protection for you all.
Thanks so much for sharing this adventure though. It was kind of exciting to read about.
Bears was one thing I was always on the look out when we went camping up the mountains. Never saw one. I am thinking that you must be in some high elevation in Colorado. Wow, I just can't believe what they did to this kitchen.
Neat S&T.
Sorry I haven't been around all week, I had company from out of town. I will have to stop by and catch up with whats going on with you.
Blessings,
*K*
Last year when we went to Shasta our food was "suppose" to be put in my FIL PV because we were in a tent. It didn't get put in. So the Bear stole my steaks, my two pounds of Maple bacon, bit my hotdogs and left them and stole my Chocolate!
When i woke up my dear sweet sleeping husband, he informed me I was dreaming.
The paw prints on the tent and the wrapper next to it says I wasn't.
Made me think twice about eating hot dogs if the bear won't even eat them!
Sorry they made such a mess.

One thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. To behold the beauty, the beauty of the Lord. To inquire in His temple, the temple of the Lord.
This is my everyday thoughts about being a mother to three little ladies (10, 8 and 3) and a toddler son. We serve God full-time, and I am a physician assistant. I have the most awesome husband in the world. I am trying to seek God with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength.
