1) How old is your Bible? My Bible is 23 1/2 years old. I picked it out for myself for my 16th birthday. I was very crazy for Jesus even back then!
2) Why did you choose this Bible? I got it for it's concordance and index. I liked the version (NKJV) too. I've put many miles on it since then, but have never regretted my choice.
3) Do you hightlight/mark passages? Yes. I like to date things too - then I can look in my journal to see why I highlighted things later if I forget.
4) If so what is your system? No system other than what I wrote above.
5) Do you have notebooks to record things? Yes.
6) If so how many and what do you record? I have about two going at any one time. I keep a journal with my prayers and thoughts, notes from lectures and church, etc. I also have a prayer journal for prayer lists, but I don't use it as much as I'd like to.
7) Where is your favourite spot toread your Bible? On my rocking chair next to my wood stove in the dining room. It is the most comfy-cosy place in the house.
8) Are there any special thoughts about your Bible you want to share? My Bible is falling apart in many pieces. The cover is off, the part of the concordance has come off with it. My baby boy tore out a few pieces of the concordance and shredded them. Soon I will have to retire the old thing, as much as I hate to!
Please feel free to join Blogger Friend School in posting about your Bible, it's really interesting to see other people's Bibles and learning about how they study and the tools they use for that.

My Bible is several years old, though not as old as yours. I have highlighting all through it. It is so precious to me that when we have tornados nearby, and have to go to the neighbor's basement, I take it with me.
hi Carol~ Thanks for coming by and signing up for the BFS again...your rocking chair sounds comforting and cozy! Wish I had one...I do have the wood burning stove though. Your Bible sounds like an old friend! Glad you have it and love it the way you do.
Nancy - sorry, my daughter was still signed in on here..LOL
Nice post Carol. My bible too is falling apart. Today in church I was looking at a passage and thought, wow, I really need a new bible.
I love your previous Show and tell, love the birds.
Love and prayers,
Katia
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Getting comments is so much fun! I cannot believe it has been more than a month since I posted! It has been crazy around our place. Of all the moves we made in my husbands Air Force career this was the craziest, but hopefull our last major move. It feels so good to call a place home. How we got here is a long story. I'll try to write abou that in my blog this week. I has so much fun looking around your blog. Looks like you have lots of snow. How fun.
That is so neat!
I have several Bibles (DH likes to say that I 'collect' them) but out of all of them I have 2 favorites.
One I got for my 13th birthday from my mom, and she inscribed it with such a sweet message. Now that she's passed away - it is so special to me. I don't use that Bible anymore - I have set it aside for safe-keeping.
My other favorite bible I got for my 16th birthday.
My uncle took me to the mall and told me I could pick out anything I wanted, and I chose The Student Bible.
It is only a paperback, and it is falling to pieces. But it is my favorite version because it was/is so easy to read, and it has great little comments inside on how to apply God's Word to your everyday life.
I have bought so many other Bibles over the years, (and I just got a wonderful new hardcover Life-Application Bible) but I keep coming back to my old one, because it is like a familiar friend.
One thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. To behold the beauty, the beauty of the Lord. To inquire in His temple, the temple of the Lord.
This is my everyday thoughts about being a mother to three little ladies (11, 9 and 4) and a two year old son. We serve God full-time, and I am a physician assistant. I have the most awesome husband in the world. I am trying to seek and serve God with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength.
