...can be used to get rid of warts (just stick it to the wart and leave it on about 48 hours, replacing it several times after 48 hours). The idea is that your skin will have a local reaction to the tape and also start seeing that this wart is a bad thing too. I've seen one patient that it did well with. Another patient couldn't get it to stick to her skin. Can you imagine?
...can hold together a shoe that the sole is flopping off of.
...makes a great red cross symbol on tubs and such for outreach travel. This way I can find which containers hold my medical equipment and meds.
...has been used to reattach many a Bible cover that has fallen off from heavy use - especially on outreach!
...can make a wallet, flip-flops, and any number of things at camp for crafts.
...can fix a thermarest if it has a hole in it and you are out of the country and can't send it in for repair.
...can tape a sprained ankle - just put plenty of cotton batting on first!
One last note along this line. If you plan an outreach to a foreign country, you can put some duct tape wrapped in layers around your nalgene bottle to keep you from having to pack a whole roll, and it will always be handy to find when you need it! This is especially useful for trekking trips and other journeys where you must pack light.

This theme was started by Lynn at Eclectic Education, for other great ideas read her post and the comments that follow - it is great! If you have used it for anything, I'd like you to post your use here too!
I'm pretty sure that my dad doesn't think that there is anything that duct tape canNOT do. LOL The side windows in my parents' 1976 Chevy van were falling out and they had them fixed several times, without much success--my dad finally put duct tape around the edges, and they stayed that way for years. (Sadly, they gave away the van about five years ago--I miss it!)
Also, my mom had given my dad really nice sheepskin slippers for Christmas once. He left them where the puppy could and did chew them to bits. My mom felt sorry for him and bought him another pair. The puppy chewed them up, and Mom no longer felt sorry for Dad. Dad taped them all up with duct tape. The best part was that when we visited them two years ago, my then-three year old was EXTREMELY impressed with Grandpa's really cool slippers and wanted a pair just like them, so Dad wrapped duct tape around a pair of socks on Lukas's feet--he was thrilled to pieces! LOL
These are great tips.
My pastor from home always takes a plentiful supply of duct tape back to Brazil whern he comes to America.
LOL, I lived in a parsonage here in America that had so much duct tape all around, it was a huge trying time of my faith. The bathroom tiles and part of the bathroom floor were well decorated with duct tape. Every time I took a shower I prayed I wouldn't go down to the basement ;)
One thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. To behold the beauty, the beauty of the Lord. To inquire in His temple, the temple of the Lord.
This is my everyday thoughts about being a mother to three little ladies (10, 8 and 3) and a toddler son. We serve God full-time, and I am a physician assistant. I have the most awesome husband in the world. I am trying to seek God with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength.
