Please pray for the 5 yo dear son of some wonderful friends of ours. He is a homeschooler too. Anyway, Friday night he was complaining of leg pain. It got worse over the night and his parents brought him to the hospital on Saturday morning because he wouldn't move it or walk on it. When he got there, he was quickly diagnosed with septic arthritis in his hip. He was transferred to another hospital very soon after and had surgery Saturday night to remove the infection and hopefully save the joint. The doctor was optimistic after the surgery saying he thought Shannon would walk on Sunday and go home Monday. However, today he did not walk. In fact he has been in severe pain, that even morphine is barely touching. To make matters worse, two more joints have begun to swell today. The doctors are puzzled and running all kinds of tests, including one for rheumatoid arthritis. Please pray for Shannon, his doctors, and his extremely tired and distraught parents!
Thanks,
Carol
Update: Shannon is slowly improving, but his spirits are very low. He feels any adult who comes in the room is there to make him move and be in pain, which does not help with any therapists who tries to help him. He has gotten up and walked and used his wheelchair a little. He fell when he tried to walk, which didn't help his low spirit and anger. Please also pray for God to work out the finances - it isn't going to be pretty and Shannon's parents are starting to feel the stress of that too. His tests should come back on Friday or next Monday. Pray that it shows something temporary - not anything life-threatening or disabling! Thanks for your prayers.
I just prayed for him and his parents. Please keep us updated. I'll tell the children about him in a bit when we sit down for devotions too and I know they will be praying.
I'm glad to hear there is some improvement. I pray he fully recooperates. How hard on a little one.
I would love to know how you make your crockpot honey mustard chicken. Sounds yummy. You are doing so great walking. We only have a short little road, and I hate walking back and forth a hundred times. Therefore, I usually walk on the treadmill (HA HA, and walk in place instead of back and forth!), but I have the hardest time staying faithful. Gorgeous pictures and views for your walk!
I don't know if I ever responded, but, no, you did not offend me by laughing at our vacation. We laugh now, too. We can also see God's hand on us through it all.
One thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. To behold the beauty, the beauty of the Lord. To inquire in His temple, the temple of the Lord.
This is my everyday thoughts about being a mother to three little ladies (10, 8 and 3) and a toddler son. We serve God full-time, and I am a physician assistant. I have the most awesome husband in the world. I am trying to seek God with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength.
