Would you believe that in the past two days we got another 3 feet of snow? I'm sure we've gotten a total of over 12 feet of snow up here this winter. I guess it was fitting that we read "The Long Winter" by Laura Ingalls Wilder. We could really relate to it! The above picture is of the dormitory that is across the driveway from our house.
Tomorrow we are supposed to go on a field trip to a dinosaur museum near Grand Junction, Colorado. We are hoping that we don't get too much wind tonight. Otherwise we won't be able to make it due to drifts. I had a hard time getting home from working at the clinic last night. I couldn't believe how much snow we got. Just when we were thinking it was melting, the snow returned in all its madness! Below is our front door. Most of the snow has been removed. It was up to the running boards on the suburban this morning when I went to move the truck for the plow.

I have read aloud "The Long Winter" and the other "Little House" books 3 times so far in my homeschooling career. I have never seen more than a few inches of snow so it's hard to imagine. Reading about how they had so little food was very sobering to my crew.
That is a lot of snow. I hope you are able to go on the field trip tomorrow. : )
The herbs in my pictures are from this years garden. Once I have them established the herbs will usually return from year to year or will return from seeds. Most herbs will spread, so as they continue to spread, I transplant them to different parts of the garden.
Blessings,
Pam
It seems snow and Easter go hand in hand to me. And American Girl Books are a favorite too.
I hope you get to go to the dinosaur museum.
Have a blessed Week-end!
I think the pictures are lovely--but then, I don't have to live in it. I'm really ready for winter to be gone. It is sunny today and yesterday--after days and days of WA rain. But alas--Mt. Rainier has a cloud hanging over the very top--the most accurate forecaster on the planet. It means that within 2 days (at the most 3) rain is in our future. Again!
I am glad to see I am not the only one who likes to show off my kids for Friday Show and Tell! Your family is beautiful. We have very similar ages of children... Blessings,
It has snowed for the last 2 days here, as well. :-S
The kids look like they are finding ways to enjoy themselves, despite being snowbound. We are also reading "The Long Winter" right now, AND...Josefina is Julie's favorite American Girl! ;-)
I haven't been by in a while, but wanted to say that I enjoyed a cup of tea and playing catch up on your entries.
We just had a beautiful 3-4 days of weather, but our prediction is for it to drop 20 degrees tomorrow (I can hear the winds howling now) and stay close to freezing for several days. Weird weather.
One thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. To behold the beauty, the beauty of the Lord. To inquire in His temple, the temple of the Lord.
This is my everyday thoughts about being a mother to three little ladies (10, 8 and 3) and a toddler son. We serve God full-time, and I am a physician assistant. I have the most awesome husband in the world. I am trying to seek God with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength.
